go to ffxi-atlas and use the bestiary to find mobs you feel like soloing. I.E. mobs with less annoying TP moves or low def, w/e floats ur boat

I've heard of a lot of BLUs using BLM solo guides. I believe the BLM page on wiki has some links for that.
If that doesn't work out for ya maybe try hunting your still needed spells from even-match enemies or possibly tough enemies?
