"Gimp"
I don't mind the use of the word gimp, it's a fun word and has a real purpose. What i'm getting tired of seeing on forums is inb4 blah blah blah. Among other things of course... :D :/ :(

But apparently being 100% or even 110% capable in both skill and equipment instead of going at say 150% means you're gimp. I don't understand that.

It doesn't matter if well geared above the average player it seems. If you don't have or don't use or don't play like some of these people say you should, you're 'gimp' end of story.
It's like calling a person you disagree with a troll simply because you disagree with them and refuse to acknowledge they have a legitimate difference of opinion. Or being called a noob even though mistakes happen and some people do actually learn from them. It's pretty ridiculous now that it's tossed around so much. It's usually big words that people shouldn't use if they don't understand what they mean.... but for small ones like that... meh.

Well, since it's all just a matter of opinion, it kinda gets used subjectively. I don't really see a problem.
If someone is rude about it or has some kind of air of superiority, that sucks - but they'd be that way with or without the ward.

This game is a mathematical equation and you can maximize just about everything. There's always a best (read: maximal) way to do ***. Anything else is gimped, because it could be better.

Being gimp to me is funny but for some depending on the RL stuff they deal with I understand. Some people have family/work/kids and don't have a lot of time to play. Some have no LS to get stuff like +2 or good weapons. So to me "gimp" is just a funny word to say about someone. Rather someone be gimp than a plain nab.

I only call someone gimp when they use stupid crap when there is cheaper, or easily obtained free better stuff.

The fact he is serving in the military is worse. It's like you call him out for using a rifle using .22 rimfire bolt action rifle in the line of duty and you kindly point him to a 5.56/7.62/3006 calliber assault rifle/Semi-Auto rifle(A very very obvious improvement.). After doing so he tells you to shut up and he's fighting for your rights and that his way is best.
My example is extreme but think about it, have yourself a laugh at the mental image.

Why yes, they should be renamed Liberty Moufles, the whole Perle set should. And each piece would be red, white and blue. The body should have a cape attached with stars and stripes.

Yeah I use a Wise Strap your stating that's gimp i suppose. coolbeans..If that's the case you talk about a lot of Nuking mages. Some use b.strap+1, some use wise, some use the new straps, some use whatever the hell they want. I'm using Wise Strap are you mad? would I make you even more mad if i used Uther's grip? Anyway, Has nothing to do w/ gimp (being that its generally what I see standard/well geared nuking mages would use.), I could see if I didn't have anything there though.
Don't be mad at everyone b/c someone "*** you right under your nose."

I'm with skadoosh on that, with the amount of mag. crit hit rate gears we have it makes the 3% on wise strap more usfull then buggard strap +1.
But I bough that shiny thing recently wizzan grip and there is ossa grip too, if you are bright enough to keep ice spike on or can just make a simple spellcast rule.(But I know many hate spellcast it's cheating ect.)

I use the word often, but never in a derogatory way. In my Dyna shell, we have a saying, "Bring your Pimpest, not your Gimpest", whenever someone asks me what job I want them to come on.

it doesnt matter theres always going to be someone gimp to another player ***im gimp cause im too lazy to level my subjobs 90+ and still lvl 37 subs but i dont care ill play how i want to play and if that means being called gimp then so be it but to many people take being called gimp to serious and they dont need to because you have these "elite" players that dont have a RL and all they do is play ffxi all day not saying any name and not trying to rag on anyone
