"Gimp"

I'm starting to realize how horribly over used this word has become on the official forums and here maybe. I could never get away with bring this to attention there.

Being gimp would imply that under equipped, and statistically inferior to an average character build. Basically under performing at generally every level. Or so I'd assume that. But apparently being 100% or even 110% capable in both skill and equipment instead of going at say 150% means you're gimp. I don't understand that.

I've heard this tossed around so many times. Don't have a rajas ring? Gimp. Not using a particular subjob. Gimp. Don't have trial staves? Gimp. It doesn't matter if well geared above the average player it seems. If you don't have or don't use or don't play like some of these people say you should, you're 'gimp' end of story.

It's like calling a person you disagree with a troll simply because you disagree with them and refuse to acknowledge they have a legitimate difference of opinion. Or being called a noob even though mistakes happen and some people do actually learn from them. It's pretty ridiculous now that it's tossed around so much. It's usually big words that people shouldn't use if they don't understand what they mean.... but for small ones like that... meh.

I think it comes down to the fact that when people are anonymous, they tend to be pretty rude. But that isn't something you can change. What you can do, is condition yourself to not give a damn.

I praise the integrity of your innocence, because this is what I thought the thread would be about.

Different people, different standards. For some it's an arbitrarily drawn line at the point they consider "average", for others the line is drawn at a point they consider the minimum threshold of competence, and in a few cases people will call others gimp for not having perfect or near-perfect gear. Honestly, no standard is more or less valid than the others and you're just trollbaiting by trying to assert otherwise.

PS: Still butthurt about the whole NQ Light Staff thing?

it's a good alternative to photoshop if you don't like to pirate or you want a customize-able interface.

lol no. I've already been through that. It's an observation over the forums the last few days. If people call me gimp then it don't really care. No one that matters has had complaints about my performance.

edit: I take that back. Playing on Xbox 360 is a hindrance actually. D:

But yeah, I think Gimp is used a ton in arguments <.< But everyone have a different view of what acceptable is. (those countless fights where some ppl think brown belt is okay and others are like Black belt or bust -_- personally not a mnk but It's what I see the more often)

I don't mind the xp, especially if you run a lot of old games.
