I am a collector, I catch at least 1 of each pokemon I've encountered. Except Pikachu, havent seen it yet, though I know its on Viridian Forest 1.

So rarity of pokemon goes:
Common, Uncommon, Rare, Shiny Pidgey, Shiny, Entei/Raikou/Suicune?

2nd Shiny Pidgey while playing normally.

Only shinys I have are Beedrill and Butterfree. I full time them just cause I can.

Needs moar Electric types for Cerulean!

Tentacruel and Staryu are easy to get. Though the Starmie is a bit difficult if you're not ready.

The way I did it was:
Solarbeam, Thunder Wave, Thunderbolt(or rain dance Thunder), Psychic(If you can, replace with another Thunderbolt/RDThunder/SB), Whirlwind.

Initially had Venusaur in the middle, raichu on the right, pidgeotto at the bottom right, Kadabra/Charizard other side.

Once Pidgeotto'd Whirlwinded the Starmie, swap your thunder pokemon to Thunder Wave so it gets slowed when it starts coming back, and it should be enough to kill.
I was around level 30-36 when I beat it like this

Edit: I then went to defeat the gym for the Tentacool using the Shiny Staryu.

Oya, I had to go back to defeat the Starmie, you don't need to beat Starmie to win, just aslong as you can atleast beat her Goldeens/Staryus/Horseas (Other bosses)

It's Cerulean Gym 1 that you have to defeat the Starmie for a Shiny Staryu. :>

Cerulean Gym 2 is a ***, 1 enemy with TRUCKLOADS of hp, uses Rest (Heals for 500 each time it uses it), and you only have 2 spots for pokemon

No wonder you let me have that Staryu :x

Lol :D I let you have it because I already have 2 others (for some reason the game let me pickup 3) and I use one, no reason to keep hold of them. :p
If I've got double of a pokemon I'll give them away if someone wants them.
Obviously I won't just literally give them away for whatever someone offers unless it's a good offer if I don't know them, but if someone wants/asks for one here or any other place I visit and I have more than I want (1, maybe 2) then I'll give them away :p.

Now, if we were talking real pokemon game, maybe not so generous. :O
