StaminUp Voidwatch is Currently Recruiting!

Background:

StaminUp is a newly formed shell, consisting primarily of friends who have played together for years already and are well situated in the Cerberus Endgame community. While the name and the shell itself is new, the membership is not. All of our core members have played for many years, and are well versed in both how the game works and how to play it. While we like to maintain a friendly, cooperative atmosphere, we all know when to mess around and when to put our game faces on. This doesn't mean that we're averse to the idea of having fun, but simply that we have fun by performing to the best of our abilities and accomplishing our goals together. We have been extremely successful on our own, however we are looking to bolster our ranks in order to most efficiently do Voidwatch. A few facts about StaminUp:

-We're a close-knit group of friends, so our membership is small and will likely stay fairly small for that reason. We prefer doing events with the same 12-15 people rather than boasting a 20+ roster and working around who shows up each day.

-We recruit primarily through word of mouth. Random applicants are heavily scrutinized. Because of this, we intend to boast a very low turnover rate.

-We at StaminUp have an exceedingly low tolerance for drama. We do not tolerate people who insist on giving the shell a bad name. If you don't get along with another StaminUp member, you will both have to be adults about it and keep it from affecting your performance as a part of the team. If a personal dispute does start interfering with group events, one or both parties will be removed from the shell entirely.

-We do have a sense of humor. Your jokes don't bother me. If ours bother you, please try to ignore them. We expect a sensible amount of thick skin. We enjoy people who don't mind making fun of themselves. We certainly don't.

Currently Recruiting:

We are currently interested in players with a decently diverse job spread who can fill multiple roles if need be. At least 2 90+ jobs are required. The more limited your job selection, the more you are going to have to prove to us that your jobs are worth bringing onto the team. We already have a fair amount of well-geared Empyrean DDs. If you want to be considered for a DD spot, you are going to have to have at the bare minimum a WoE weapon (or comparable Magian for certain jobs) and solid TP/WS/PDT/MDT gear. Having an Alt account helps, but is not mandatory.

We Expect Appropriate Gear Swaps From Everyone. No Exceptions.

Specifically, we are currently recruiting for the following jobs:

White Mage: Must have at least a Surya's +2 Cure Potency staff, bare minimum.

Red Mage: Must have at least a Surya's +2 Cure Potency staff, bare minimum. Must be willing to rearrange G2 Merits if necessary in order to cover all Triggers.

Black Mage: Must have at least 1 +2 level Affinity staff. Must be willing to merit all AMII spells.

Scholar

Dragoon: Completed Magian weapon (OAT, WoE, Emp) or Vougier's Contus required.

Blue Mage: Must have ALL Voidwatch Trigger spells.

Ninja: Must have all Ichi, Ni, and San spells. Blade: Hi highly recommended.

Bard: Must have all trigger spells. Must have capped skill tiers for songs and merit abilities.

Ranger: Must have all Archery and Marksmanship WS. Jishnu's Radiance or Wildfire highly recommended.

Dancer: Must have 5/5 Haste Samba.

We are Not actively recruiting any other jobs. If you have a job that is not listed here, you are welcome to apply regardless, noting however that only exceptional applications will be reviewed.

Please be advised that exceptional references from current members are highly recommended.

Current Schedule:

Our current schedule is to run on Saturdays and Sundays at 7pm EST. Runs may last anywhere from 1-3 hours. If you are applying, please ensure that this is a schedule you will be able to adhere to.

During weekdays, StaminUp members typically do other things, such as farm Empyrean weapons and complete AF3+2 sets for new jobs. We occasionally do WoE, HKCNM, and pretty much anything else worth doing. Most of this off-hour hunting is impromptu, so there may not be any announcements that we will be doing anything.

Expectations:

-We expect people to check the /LSMES for times of events and show up on time without being told.

-We expect people to be able to promptly and quickly change jobs if it is determined to be necessary. Do not keep important gear for a job you know we may need on a mule.

-Be able to navigate all areas, or be willing to spend time learning with maps provided on the internet.

-Bring Food, Tools, Reraise, Sneak and Invisible (Oils and Powders or Tonko/Monomi, even for mages in Magic Aggro areas) everywhere with them, without being reminded, no matter what is on the schedule.

-Be able to multitask and change plans quickly. There are times when unexpected circumstances will cause us to shift our scheduled target to something different, and being able to quickly do so is expected.

-Be respectful to the LS members, and to let us know if you are going AFK or are going to be unable to play for any length of time.

-Don't be HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE. Seriously. Everyone makes mistakes, but not everyone learns from them. You can fix gimp. You can fix new. You can't fix stupid.

Additional Information:

At StaminUp, we don't expect everyone who applies to our shell to be perfectly geared. If you had everything, why would you need to do VoidWatch? However, we do expect applicants and members to be smartly geared. We expect people to gear swap, to know the basics of game mechanics, and to know what to use when. What matters to us is not that you are geared the best, but that you are geared the best for your means.

We also expect applicants and members to show an earnest desire to improve. You may not be the best now, but you can be later. Being self-motivated is important. Applicants and members must also have the ability to accept criticism. If you're doing it wrong, someone will tell you. Learn from us, and learn from each other. If you think we're wrong, tell us; just be prepared to back your claims up.

Final Notes: BEING A MEMBER OF THE PC MASTER RACE IS REQUIRED.

Spellcast, and/or Windower Scripts are highly recommended; No one will be cut slack because they are working with inferior macros.

We will be utilizing Skype/Ventrilo/Mumble for voice chat. Microphones are not mandatory, however you will be required to listen in in order to receive instructions and plans as efficiently as possible.

If you are not from Cerberus originally, we reserve the right to perform a Background Check on BlueGartr.

If you are on our server, please contact Isawa or Greatguardian after applying.

Good luck!

Good luck finding members.

A word of advice though: If you're recruiting solely for VW, you may want to either differentiate membership types (Which is a whole lot of work, with little pay-off), or explain other functions of the LS. I doubt it's conducive to recruit for a specific function of the LS, but not the rest; otherwise it makes you seem like an event-LS where folks can pick and choose. For instance, there's no information on how the creation of Empyreans is decided, which, left unexplained is foreboding of foul play. Also, I'd hate to join a VW LS and be mandated to other events.

Kudos on the Zombies reference.

The linkshell itself is Voidwatch-only, that's its sole purpose for existing. The core members of the shell just happen to be old friends who do things on their own during the weekdays. This, however, is not a function of StaminUp itself.

To be perfectly honest, we don't believe that a linkshell is necessary or even ideal for the creation of Empyreans, nor do we use linkshell rules or policies to dictate how or what anyone does in their free time (which is what weekdays are, since the linkshell is Voidwatch-only). If someone wants to make an Empyrean, the linkshell as an entity will not be involved in doing so. However, the members, as individual people, are able to make their own personal decisions as to what they want to do and what they want to help on.

In summation, to prevent rambling (I ramble), I can sum things up with bullet points:

-StaminUp as a linkshell does not do anything but Voidwatch

-No StaminUp members are expected to show up to anything but Voidwatch

-StaminUp as a linkshell does not sponsor Relics, Empyreans, or Mythics

-As long as you come to Voidwatch on Saturday and Sunday, we don't particularly care how you spend your free time or even if you put the shell on at all during the week. You are welcome to chat with us or do things with us if you want to, but there's no obligation one way or another.

With that said, the members of StaminUp are generally nice, active people who like to get ***done in their spare time. If you ask for help with something, it is the personal prerogative of everyone there whether they want to or are able to help or not. Personally? I rarely actually mind helping anyone with anything. I can't speak for anyone else, but we wouldn't have gotten anything done in the first place if no one helped one another.

I apologize if there was any confusion. Does that help to clear things up?

Perfect and concise. You may want to graft pieces of that into your Guildwork description as well.

Again, good luck. I'll keep you in mind, personally.

Ha, sorry Q :(. Weekends are nice for us since we're mostly college students, as well as ElectricMayhem members, so we don't have to worry about class schedules or EM event schedules whenever the shell starts doing events again.

Just giving a +1 to GG, he's a good leader and he can run a very fair VW LS. He's a long term member of EM (The main LS most of the Stamina members are from), and I'd recommend this LS for Voidwatch content.

just an idea if you have multiple blms some can merit some AM2 and other merit others, wish you guys were on asura lol. also cure potency staff doesn't make/break a whm, tefnut wand is better, and even light staff works if your not shitty

The part about multiple blms meriting different AMIIs is nice, but if one fails to show then you're in the shitter, or potentially anyhow.

The thing with Surya's staff is true though. Tefnut+genbu's is a tested better combo that surya+2, and would be at least comparable to +3 unless the +3 allowed a whm to rearrange their potency set greatly.

And for RDM, imo being able to respond quickly with -na spells, keep relevant debuffs up and actually LAND some debuffs at times for staggers would be more important, and take some strain off the main whm.

Has it even been fully tested that macc from AM2 spells is full time and not just on MB? Regardless, having them all for procs is certainly not gimp.

That would be like saying any main RDM would be offended that they might have to alter their T2 merits.

Honestly if I were to consider myself a 'main' something, it would be because when I played that job, I fulfilled the role more completely than was desired, and that I alone could perform any service required.
