Spell Interruption Down for BLU
By Quiznor 2011-09-19 07:47:25
So far I'm sitting @ 28% SID for utsusemi and I'm looking to get to at least 33% (or more realistically 35% because of SE's % system) so far I'm sitting at
Merits 5/5 10%
Impatiens 10%
Solitaire Cape 8%
I was looking at more gear but I'm probably overlooking something to push it to 35%+
Any suggestions?

Nightfyre's set page has some info on this for blu. The set notes give info about weapon slots and augmented items.
I've always noticed that you'll need way more than 33% to make any impact on utsu or any other magic that you lack skill in. The real use for this is to get to 102 and just be uninteruptable.

The torque would do me nicely,I dont use spellcast so I was hoping to do it without swapping out any haste pieces, although I am completely revamping my BLU macros since I had to reinstall ffxi over the weekend so maybe I'll have even more detailed macros this time.Starting in haste/fastcast and swapping to SID etc.Completely forgot the AF1 legs had SID and I had just come back into the thread to add nash head into my original post (I dont have it,just that I'm aware it has 10%) cant get the earring, since I already have a different one :( But that torque would come in useful,it would push me to 33% at least, even if SE's % would screw me.
Also,isnt SID capped under 100%?

Also, isnt SID capped under 100%? Only worry about haste at the end of your cast, it does nothing in your pre-cast set, where as your spell interruption rate and fast cast should be prioritized in your precast
At midcast is when you substitute your spell interruption rate for sheer fastcast and haste

I've never seen or heard any indication of SID capping under 100%. I've always seen 102. This includes merits though so technically in gear you wouldn't need 102%. My own personal test back in the day stuck me at 100% and that failed to prevent utsu interruptions while 106% succeeded every time.
Lacking weapon slots and augmented gear you can't cap but you can get it pretty far up there.
Do you use any kind of enhanced macros such as scripts?

Lacking spellcast it is very hard to narrow the line between having SID gear on for as much of the cast as possible and having it on during the end cast. You can flip it out before but there is always a chance the mob will hit you in that window. It's a balancing act.

I worded that poorly, what I meant to say was sacrificing haste where/when it matters. My bad

It's fairly easy to do so long as you remember there is a .6-.8 second delay between being able to switch a piece of gear in a slot that was just flipped. So your txt file should do something like this:
Fastcast gear don't do all of haste gear here
/start spell
pause .8 minimum
SID gear and any non-SID slot with haste.
pause for whatever the cast time -about 1 second perhaps 1.5 seconds based on cast time and perhaps a buffer for lag.
rest of haste gear.
Use your recast timer to determine if haste and fastcast gear is macroing in properly. Once it does go get hit by a mob or two in mid cast and see if it makes any impact.

Ah,see thats a bit different than how I have my macros done.I was always taught to use the script for gear only, not the entire process. But like I said, completely revamping BLU macros so its gonna be a full overhaul

I didn't either back when I used scripts but if you want this to work you'll have to since you can only process waits of 1 second intervals in the game based wait command.
I used txt sets and would set up like this:
I think it's better to use this method because it requires so many less txt files but I'm sure you can think of a good way to fix it up so it does what you need without causing issues.
Though learning spellcast wouldn't be a bad idea either.
