No more gear swapping during fights :(
waah waaaaah me not know how to play good.
You know what, I'm with you on the gear swapping.
To retain a level of skill and number crunching, make formulas a bit more complex so number crunchers can still debate x piece vs y piece and still have it be relevant to your character without taking it off or switching for various situations.
If there was one thing I liked in WoW, is was static increases to relevant stats and always keeping it on. Saves inventory too.

I'd personally would like them to incorporate a better season system monsters appear during winter or summer only Jugner Forest starts to change its colors of leaves. FFXIV graphics into FFXI would be great :D I wish they didnt make jobs so orientated too like a PLD is best with sword and therefore only gets legendary swords :( i want flashier ws too!

I would make EXP slower again. I like abyssea but really we went from 5-20k per hour to 100k/hour.
When you got your 1st jobs to 75 pre abyssea. It was a great feeling. Then your 2nd still felt like you got something done. Now with abyssea getting a job to 90... it's just a girding abyssea party and your done.
I would have made the level 70 level cap apply to all jobs vs just the 1st one to break the limit. Put everyone on a level 70 level cap who hasn't broken maat fight with said job. This would remove a lot of bad players... or remove people from playing jobs they have no clue howto play from end game stuff.
Now that almost all userful items are RA/EX. I would revamp crafting to make it a hell of a lot easier to get to 100 or make many items in the 100+ crafts drop a hell of a lot more.
Take alchemy...
Pro-Ether Free from people doing chest.. Can't make gil at items rare.
Sun Water This pet is to weak now, but it is cheap enough to make. But useless jug.
Crystal Rose Need 60 gold. And will rarely sell
Gold Algol need 60 gold and don't even know what it is.
Point to take alchemy to 100 loss gil.

Take Furniture out of the mog safe when it is laid out. Worst feature ever.

If there was one thing I liked in WoW, is was static increases to relevant stats and always keeping it on. Saves inventory too.
I always thought it was ridiculous to change your clothing fully in the middle of a fight. Gear swapping is the worst thing about this game IMO, I would definitely change that, but I love that seasons suggestion.
Honestly, I would make it so the CSes and story itself would trigger after other chunks are completed. IE You'd have to do RoZ + CoP to unlock ToAU and all three to do WoTG. It feels like it depletes the point of WoTG if you just jump in there without knowing anything about anything.

If I could change ffxi, I would make sinking minnows and hakuryu both stack to 12 or 99~ lures to 99 at least. I'd be happy with hakuryu to 12 :DD

Expanding the idea of customizable gear like the rewards from completing Add-on mission lines. They could incorporate it into crafting or empy system, or some new system. It would increase the individuality and focus of your <insert job here> apart from every other. They've stated that this was the purpose of the merit system, why not dive deeper into that?

ditch abyssea, and put real camped HNMs back in the game. More khim, more cerb, more ixion and sandworm, more tiamats and epic times in the aery or dominion.
I personally feel this game died when they moved away from that. They need more content like that for me to feel like reactivating my account is worth the cost.

I don't think they should get rid of Abyssea altogether. But having more options for endgame content would be nice. Like others have stated, making HNMs relevant again would be nice (for those of you who used to camp them. I never liked them and never did them.) Also, the idea earlier about adding the other continents in would be awesome and very fun! It would be great to go explore truly new zones again. That would really make it fresh and new again, instead of just adding a red sky and new mobs to old zones.

It's called a mule No need to be so close-minded as to other people's situations, perhaps he'd prefer putting over 14 things on AH at a time, maybe he'd like 100 bloody things on the ah at a time without having to pay extra money out of his pocket. It's just a suggestion, it in no way jeopardizes the content of yours, so to disqualify his through a suggestion of "spend more money" is just silly.

I really like these ideas and have had similar musings myself.
Someone posted this map a while ago and I think it would be neat if SE was invested in this game enough to add new expansions.
Revamp the graphics (drop PS2), add the Mithra homeland to the south and make that expansion more appealing to newer players (new leveling areas, make abyssea 70+, etc). Maybe add a new job or two and add in male Mithras as a playable race.
For existing players add a new endgame expansion to the north making us go into the Orcish/Gigas homelands. Something for the veteran player and not for the weak of heart (or for those in pink gear).
