It's not easy to prove that you are disabled.

Food stamps and other aspects of welfare can be as easy as applying for a job. Proving matters of dependents, disability, and other calculated income deductibles become more painful. Each state has their own program.

I think the picture is funny because it's true. If it touches your sensitivities, then it may be pinpointing an underlying concern that you are failing to address, and even semi-consciously aware of a position you have to do so.

Personally I believe if anyone does qualify for Food Stamps and welfare, to go for it. Buy seeds and buy organic (or whatever just feels right/good). =D

I think the Social Security system is a lesser form of providing for people than what we are actually capable of, if we were to become aware of the power of collective cooperation. Until that point, we are always going to be serving the elite, and their systems of distribution, and thus there will be the rich and impoverished.
