Balin's Vs. Balmung

Hey guys,

i just had a discussion with a LS member about the pros and cons from Balmung and Balin's.
In any case its sure Balin's is the most powerfull WS sword... but whats with the overall dmg?
In my opinion, Balmung does more dmg... what do you think?

I'm not a DRK, but I'd guess that Balmung would give you slightly better results over time but Balin's would give better spikes which are what most people really notice. I'd say they're fairly evenly matched overall so try not to think too hard.

Balmung will give you more damage over time on most monsters, due to the accuracy and attack bonus all of the time (it's like a Perdu weapon without the latent), but Balin's will do more weaponskill damage.

However, Balmung severely hurts your Souleater damage, so I would not use it in any fight where you are likely to use Souleater (endgame fights etc)... however, in exp parties and merit parties where you are very unlikely to use Souleater, Balmung should be better.

Work on Subduer/Perdu Sword/Algol -- they're your best greatswords going.

Should work on some Magian weapons instead of trying for those.
