Connection Problems

i just moved into my college campus dorm and i cant connect to FFXI or FFXIV just says checking version for like 5 minutes then gives me an error =/ i have internet just fine on my laptop

Your college have ports or anything blocked? Not that I know which ones you need.

Most college have games block so you pretty much be out of luck here not if you find a way around it and if they find that out you could be kicked out of school at least that what i hear from people who have the same issue with games.

you can ask and see if they have games block

Would suck to live in a blocked dorm.

yep and there some programs that people use to get around this but cost like 3-9$ a month. but if the School find out they could ban you from using the internet in your Dorm.
