It's sad that Norway doesn't support the death penalty, this is another clear case of a perfect candidate.

My thoughts exactly! Did you see the footage of the gunman opening fire on the campers that were still on shore?

Using the death penalty as a form of punishment? Personally, I think life in prison would be worse than death.

Or they should have him try to swim across a river while people are firing on him!

Have you seen the pictures of the potential prison in the OP?

Also, if this were true people would not constantly appeal the death penalty over and over and over buying every little minute they can often dragging out death penalty sentences for years sometimes decades.

Not to mention the cost the taxpayers are forced to keep this person alive over X amount of years. inb4PeopleOnDeathRowCostARidiculousAmountToTaxpayersInTheUS

These type of protective custody prison sentences are not anywhere close to the hard time served such as being in general population people often confuse the two.

People on death row cost a ridiculous amount to tax payers in the US. (more than keeping someone alive)

Inb4ing doesn't invalidate the truth in it.

The "right" to life is easily surrendered by those who choose to do so with their actions.. ESPECIALLY those who have taken it upon themselves to take that very same right from the innocent in cold blood.

Particularly a life of prison where he gets to see that he killed 85, 90 people and his message was still utterly ineffective. Those people died for nothing.

One day, if he's got any soul, that will eat away at him.

I don't understand why this has to be turned into a debate about whats wrong and whats right.

Sitting here and bickering back and forth does not change the fact of what happened. Why can't at least one topic on these forums not turn into a pissing match?

Because people who post constantly on the internet have too much time on their hands and believe they're the best thing ever to grace the planet.

In regards to the OP, peace be with the communities affected. Very sad thing to go through. :\
