There was a similar case where someone bought up all Griffen stuff before the update, as if someone tipped him/her off.
Or they got lucky with guess. Gobbie bag stuff does generally follow a pattern
Maybe a crafter, someone in my LS is raising smithing, he bought tons of ore 1 week before update, he skilled up with these, then sold back ingot to NPC the day before update lol :/

griffon stuff is different only way for a high level leathercrater to level the skill without losing big amounts.
It was an irregular amount. They also purchased mats for the other pieces as well. This person knew more than just Griffon. It was crazy, I wish I still had the link. ><;
