I need *** help with this game... Forever bronze is an understatement to what I'm dealing with. Won maybe half of my trial games, lost all 5 of my placement games, and so far I've lost 4 or 5 games while bronze.

if you're idle even a mere moment, you're giving your enemy an upper hand; i use to sit on my *** and think i'm fine, then sure enough i've got the hand of god at my front doorstep
i heart flooding mad marines at the begging of games with four barracks, nearly almost always a <5 win in bronze, and even if it lasts longer than that, it's strong mid-game, but tends to suck the longer you drag it out

I just think my build order is all wrong, as well as the units that I'm building.. blah blah blah >< Plan on doing some 1v1 against a friend who knows more about the game. Hope he can give me some ideas.
what race do you play, because if it's say, protoss, i've yet to ever see a successful zealot build that didn't involve cheesing of some sort

And speaking of protoss.. Last I played them they tried to cheese me... I stopped it, then they built like 50 billion *** void rays and destroyed me...
i get cannon rushed so often it's not even funny, or at least they try to cannon rush
but anyways, are you researching stimpacks before combat shield? if so, reverse that priority there; i'd refrain from marauders somewhat at first too tbh (if you happen to latch onto them quickly), at least until you can support them with concussive shells and enough gas

Hah :S Just played a game where I rushed him with only like 10 marines to kinda probe 'em. Turns out he was only making barracks units so I built like 6 siege tanks and set them up behind my blocked up ramp and they just went to town on his units.. Got 15 reapers and snuck behind his base, took out like 20 SCVs XD
I'm suprised more people don't use them. They're cheap and great for harassment

my main issue atm as terran is finding the right moment to transition into a bio/mech build without overdoing it

Weird game.. He rushed with SCVs and I just pulled up my barracks/command and made a new base. Ended up blocking the new base ramp and holding off his SCV army with a single marine..
Hmmm.. Just went against a terran who screwed me up early with reapers by messing with my supply line.. Gunna try that..

this is a sign that you meed to improve your macro, not your build order, including when you can/should expand and how you should be handling unit production. general rule is, if your macro is superior then you will have the superior army. since you said you held off a rush you would have had plenty of time to get a second base and pump out units like there's no tomorrow.
it's not so much a matter of counters in bronze (unless you're being hard countered) as it is improving your knowledge of resource management.
out of curiosity, when you were defeated in this particular game what were your minerals at?
I wish I was good at this game.
I love watching it and playing it, but I can never play for ***. The only 2 RTS games I've been good at were Red alert 2 and Civilisation (1/3/5)

sc2 streams are amazingly fun to watch, but i've got to admit the main reason i love starcraft is in fact the actual story/universe of it, even with me being terribly mediocre at actually playing the game

I did love the campaign. I've never been sucked so much into an RTS' story line than with SC2. And the missions are actually fun.

Whats everyone's take on EG pretty much poaching puma from TSL?
I'm gold rank 2 4v4 random. Got placed in Plat in 1v1, but I keep getting owned.

After puma won the nasl eg approached him. "EG has been revealed to pay Puma a certain amount of salary, and to provide Puma with money for foreign tournaments." vs him only getting a stipend from TSL.
Besides the salary part I think its a good move for puma before the NASL he was more of a "Practice partner" for the big names never really being able to shine till now.

Definitely was a **** move on EG's part going around his coach's back but hopefully this is gonna lead to alot more of puma in big tournaments his play in the NASL was amazing.
