I recently bought a Logitech Gamepad F310 controller, and it has a program called "Logitech Profiler" that allows me to set specific key commands for each individual button.
I was messing around with the controller settings and set one button to act as if I hit the alt button, and another to act as the Tab button on my keyboard. So far it doesn't work and I was wondering if you guys knew a way to make it to where I could alt-tab between my two ffxi characters without actually using the keyboard.
Is there any other thing I could do to set one keyboard button, a mouse button, or a controller button to act as if I hit alt-tab to switch between windows?

I know you can do it if you pick up a Saitek controller, and use their profiler..
It might be the same for Logitech, go to the profiler and check for advanced options where it allows you set up macros, you can then program a single button to press and hold ALT, then TAB and then let go of ALT.. Essentially the same thing as ALT+TAB. If that isn't an option in Logitech, maybe you can get the Saitek profiler and make it work for your controller.

I believe its possible, as I can set Ventrilo's push-to-talk on my controller.
Same concept really, just need to figure out how @.@
I'd like to know how as well! XD

Just tested it...
This program works WAY better than I would have imagined. Highly recommend this to any PC player that dual boxes and prefers to use a controller. Can set any button on your controller to switch between characters.
Also works better than alt-tab in that it doesn't go into stuff that isn't ffxi (as far as I know) so you don't accidently drift into another window (i.e firefox, itunes, ect) and you just stay in ffxi windows.

My issue with alt tab is that unless you avoid bringing anything else on your pc in to focus, it'll keep pulling up other stuff. Switch mon is nice since it limits to simply the games you have up and not internet windows or anything else.

Ok, I haven't looked into Switch Mon or Xpadder, I've heard more about Switch Mon though. Is that a plug-in for windower or a separate program altogether?

it's a separate program that just runs in the background.. doesn't do much other than assign buttons to tab between ffxi windows.

alt-tab puts the program you are just leaving into the next in cue.
so if you are just running 2 instaces,of ffxi and 12 other program, you will only alt-tab between those two ffxi.
-- edit --
just tested
if you run 3 ffxi and some other programs Then once you have tabbed correctly through the 3 ffxi's it will be be the next ones you tab through. so agian you will not have to tab through other programs

Ok sorry to keep repeating the threads but Switch Mon isn't working because the windower forums are down and I can't find a 64-bit download anywhere. Xpadder hasn't showed up for me either, any ideas of what I can do now? I can live with switching screens with the mouse, but when I heard you could do it with a controller button that isn't used (Such as R1~) that kind of appealed to me.
tldr: I want to make 2boxing simpler.

I know that's how 7 works, but do Vista and XP work in the same manner? I never used Vista, and I can't recall on XP.

Here's the direct link:

Btw, it says x86 but is compatible with 64bit.

All windows versions work the same...
Technically you hold down ALT then each time u press TAB(while holding down Alt still) it will preview the next program in order... when you release the ALT key that is the program window it will make active.
So ALT+TAB then release and then ALT+TAB release swaps between just 2 programs no matter how many are open.
xpadder.com is for xpadder I think its 10$ but it works really well on Vista and 7 for sure as I use it there daily.

I tried that and every time I tried to open it I would get a message saying "FFXI Switch Mon has stopped working" and when I troubleshooted it said the version was incompatible. Also, I'm not that computer savvy to know how to put host files and host entries anywhere lol.

Xpadder is great for stuff like this, it's 10 dollars... but with a little google-fu you can get it at a *cough* discount
