I say keep the current [-] and bring back the ones for threads. There's a reason its called "rating".
I think its more pathetic that people get their feelings hurt because someone -1'd them. If you're afraid someone is going to criticize your post via [-] or a negative comment, disable it (on SS's) or just don't post at all. Quit whining.

Can't you turn the comment/rating option off when you upload a picture? So if the person doesn't wanna see "hate" from their peers, they can easily make that happen. <.<
Honestly, why do you care if someone rates your comment down? It shouldn't matter. The person who you posted it for will appreciate what you said. Isn't that why you post the positive comments in the first place? :o

i'm pretty sure if ah was in danger of losing the google support for this site, they'd make the changes that needed to be made without regard to the suggestion threads
i'm equally sure they're capable of doing what needs to be done to keep their advertisers without our expert advice

If someone was rated down 40-some-odd times I don't think anyone cares to see what it says other than the fact that it was rated down so much. I don't see why Google is such a baby about advertising on sites, when you can access all of the worst parts of the internet directly through their search results. I'm guessing they don't know how to turn Safe Search off.

There is a difference between getting rid of a useless/non-sense/assholish comment then just rate down caus you dont like that person's hair.
