Last I checked, FFXI was all about standing around with your enemy to your back, waiting for someone else to proc. All this discussion about increasing your damage by another 0.5% - 1.0% seems like a big waste when you're not allowed to even swing at the monster...

Ok, these are the haste pieces used in the set above, bar the Usukane feet.
24% from gear here, so we only need 2% to cap right?
So adding 4% to your already 24% makes 28%, damn we've gone overboard here by 2%.
Usukane sune-ate fit perfectly here as not only do they cap your haste but they also have 7STP. For arguments sake let's say you have 220/180 delay weapons this will reduce the total number of hits it will take to reach 100tp by 2! (23>21) this will also increase your WS frequency, especially outside Abyssea where you're not so likely to exceed 100tp due to TA proc.
And I haven't even mentioned the Enmity & Atk on them (more Enmity than the Ocelot/Kyahan-Ballerine combo).
