Not a joke, Conficker is a well known virus that is reknown for only striking on 04/01, April Fools Day, and has been around for a couple years now, with new Conficker versions coming out each year.

It exploits a loophole in Windows, however Microsoft has since patched it. Unfortunately not everyone keeps their computer up to date...

As soon as you're infected. (well next reboot for major things to happen).

Its true.

Besides, most people who got the virus got it years ago, and though it was Norton's fault.

Wine, I love that program. Still dual boot for FFXI though.

Oh no! I tried to go to norton.com but got redirected to Symantec! It must be them who made this virus!

Back to something a little bit more serious: The biggest/deadliest virus ever made for PC was coded by a company called Microsoft back in the 80s. It is now commonly known as Windows, comes in several versions, some worse than others, and most people ignore they are infected. In any case, it will screw your computer badly, and there is no known cure yet, besides formatting and stop playing PC games completely. This virus is multi-platform, it affects PDAs, there were some versions made for gaming consoles such as the Sega Dreamcast. Caution is advised when dealing with any infected machine, it can mess with your mental health, cause anger management issues, and sometimes lead to suicide. The virus itself is known to spawn other sub-viruses such as "Internet Explorer" and "Windows Media Player 7" and up. One of it's sub processes called ActiveX is specificaly designed so you could visit any webpage and need to format your PC simply because the page loaded. It will easily allow other smaller viruses to infect your PC and make it worse. So far, some temporary alternatives exist such as Firefox which you can use instead of Internet Explorer, but as long as you keep using Windows, your PC is at a high risk of *** up any moment. It can destroy your life, your sanity, and even your business. Unlike the April's fool virus, it strikes approximately 365 days a year.

I don't use a Mac and I wouldn't buy one. Nope, I'm (not so proudly) typing this from a windows xp machine, I just love making fun of Microsoft's horrible products that's all, their only softwares that don't suck are the ones they bought from other companies and never tried to update by themselves ^-^

Can't really disagree with either one of you on this. As soon as I find a way to run FFXI in Linux with decent stability, I'll stop pirating Microsoft's master virus. Until then, I'll be happy that at least I didn't pay for the infection on my computer.
