So i started the game in January of this year and have been trying forever to get a Carbuncle Ruby. (one dropped in a party and my friend got it weeks ago)

So after soloing and killing leach after leach i finally got mine yesterday. Went to the house of the hero in windy and activated the SUM quest... then i went looking for weather conditions. I found Orange (clear skies) and Yellow (Dust storm) pretty easily. I found Ice at the glacier, thunder at jugner, i found rain and wind, somewhere i cant remember...

But Fire weather... (which you would think would be at the dunes, jungle, ifrit's cauldron or the desert) has been nowhere to be found (even on firesday), and the weather reporters never mention it either.

Anyone have any experiences/tips to share?

I'll tell you what I did about a billion years ago when I was trying to do the same thing.

Got to the Western/Eastern Altep zone line and set your camera in first person. Tape the down button on your keyboard or controller to where it is constantly walking you backwards and zoning you back and forth between east/west altep. Go to bed.

It still may take a few days to get it, but at least you don't have to camp weather like it is fafnir.

I had a tough time with that too. When I'd login, I'd ask a random person in the dunes if there was fire weather. Eventually I was able to get it :P

All I did was go to dunes, stand by the zone and wait for the fire weather to appear, zone out then zone back in.

didn't take too long for me when I did SMN quest

When it comes to fire weather, you just have to grin and bear it. Here's a weather chart that was recorded over the span of a vana'diel year. Notice the lack of red lines on the chart. Fire weather just barely shows up, anywhere. You'd think with the deserts and volcanos that exist in this game that there'd be a location with frequent fire weather, but such is not the case.

But, to answer your question, it looks like you'll have the most luck in Yhoator Jungle during August, or Altepa if you don't want to wait for summer.

A very nice person (Sakurawr) gave me the website i am pasting below... which has a showing for the next 3 hours that keeps updating as to what the predicted weather was.

I found out that Fire weather was going to show up and then end pretty much right when i would normally get home from work, so i asked my boss if i could leave a half an hour earlier, and make up the time. So i did and got it :)

I was checking that page for a few days, and the two times i saw fire weather was both on Earth Day. The first time was in Altepa, and i got it in Meriphataud Mountains.
