I'm not snide with Victoria of Sweden. You seemed indignant about the lack of media coverage her wedding received in comparison with the recent British one.
I tried to explain to you what did not need explaining to be honest, that the British royal house is simply much more known(I already stated why) than any of the other royal houses in Europe and yes, even the world.
If you don't like the amount of attention this wedding got that's fine, however it's silly to point fingers at Victoria's wedding and compare the two being indignant about why one received more attention than the other.
So glad that this stuff is almost over. I am seriously sick of hearing about the Royal Wedding, or the companies that are making cheap knock off 'replica' rings..
Then again, I'm sort of jaded when it comes to the Royal anything. My grandmother is absolutely obsessed with the Royal Family for some unknown reason. She literally buys any magazine that has any member of the Royal Family on the cover, even ***like National Enquirer. Growing up, I probably heard more about them on average than someone in the UK did.

Few accept the principles of Monarchy really. At least in the majority of economically developed countries. Almost all royal families have no power and are mere social figures used as public distractions.

Yeah, they're just figureheads really. It's not harming anyone, except when they have expensive weddings. But that only happens once a while. lol
I'd imagine there's some tradition involved in choosing the dress. Or maybe choosing ugly dresses is the tradition.

Apparently too, she wore the Queen's Tiara when she got married. Sounds very traditional to me.

So how many of you watched this mornings proceedings at Buckingham Palace? Personally I still don't quite understand how a wedding has captivated so many people around the world, but I nonetheless found myself watching the highlights with a pleasant smile on my face!
Perhaps it is the perfect ceremony that many of us wish we could experience ourselves with loved ones that captures our hearts? It looked like one of those special occassions that puts the worlds troubles on hold and unites people in happiness.
