We could go so far as to say that the exact co-ordinates of the sixth Wild Rabbit on the widescan list when stood at (E-4) in West Ronfaure is the determining factor in what the outcome of our synthesis is. Since we can't prove this to be false, we have to assume that there
could be a sliver of truth behind it.
The crafting system is probably nowhere near as complex as people make it. The majority of enigma and mystery surrounding the mechanics of skill ups, high qualities and failures are user made and have been developed as a stereotypical placebo to increase or decrease our level of comfort when crafting.
It's like when there's a room of people and somebody mentions there's a bit of a cold virus going round. Despite the fact moments before that was mentioned everyone felt fine, there's always one or two people who turn around and say "Actually, I feel a bit heady now that you mention it". When our minds have become aware of something that could or might happen, sometimes it feels like it's already happening
just because you know it might.
Treasure Hunter is no different. It's nickname, "Placebo Hunter", is aptly given; there is no way we can prove or disprove the existence of Treasure Hunter. You could run tens of millions of tests on Treasure Hunter and the crafting system and have landslide results; until a developer tells you exactly how they coded these, you can't prove anything.
Just remember that you could flip a coin ten million times and get ten million heads. Probability suggests it's next to impossible; but so long as it could be heads every throw, it could happen.
So what I'm saying is, stop over thinking. Theories and enigmas are brilliant to think about and discuss on forums, but they're useless. No matter how much testing we do, we'll never know how crafting or treasure hunter works.
And to the obvious troll, Mabon:

Mr. Madison, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
I ask you; can you prove he's wrong?
