If the latter, uninstall and download the one from here: http://www.playonline.com/ff11us/download/media/vista01.html?pageID=media another thing, buy a wireless card or a usb stick wireless if running cat5 to your computer isn't an option, would probably be more stable than the setup you described. If nothing else it could be showing another problem that exists. Leviathan.Chaosx said: Cerberus.Eugene said: Isn't the vista version and the 7 version the same? If nothing else it could be showing another problem that exists. Yeah...I find the same error over and over again to be pretty definitive. Could just be the experience though of fixing many BSOD's because of it giving me information based on the error. I can spout how this is "my career" or "my hobby" all day and night, but I shouldn't have to because its rather common sense. If something keeps saying "hey! this 'thing' is messin' up!" over and over again, I think its pretty clear, whether its computers, or anything/anyone else. from what I can tell of your error codes (all zeros seriously?) the 1e refers to a driver issue, so try to update and rollback (or any of the above mentioned) with sound, video, or to your network adapter thing you have. or may very well be your monitor (unlikely).
Do you use a controller? or special keyboard/mouse that use drivers? To be honest since there's apparently a bug in steam with 7x64 etc, that's probably causing the conflict, if patching it doesn't help I'd say try to get a hold of standalone XI (you can use the same login etc) and use the playonline from the website, and the game+expansions from where you get them, and give it a whirl. Run CCleaner to clean up your registry while you're at it though. At the moment there's too many factors. It's really become quite clear who understands the diagnostics/repair process and who doesn't.
You now have the BSOD code posted here again for reference: Quote: BCCode: 1e BCP1: 0000000000000000 BCP2: 0000000000000000 BCP3: 0000000000000000 BCP4: 0000000000000000 OS Version: 6_1_7600 Service Pack: 0_0 Product: 256_1 Put your money where your mouth is and since you now have the BSOD code tell us exactly what the problem is and how to fix it. Try me. Please do. Also, try giving us something more elaborate than "memory dump" becuase no *** ***what do you think the BSOD is. mother *** popcorn ready. I'll quote myself for you

You made a blanket statement about those codes. I said it was possible to get an answer from them. A few months ago I had a bluescreen problem and I was able to get an exact answer from microsoft. Here is an official microsoft KB article pointing to a specific bluescreen error code, giving you a specific windows 7 hotfix, that is now in the official windows 7 SP1. Rage moar Jackasses aside, i would move on to trying a memtest next to test RAM.
Have you installed any programs recently before the BSOD? Any antivirus or firewall by chance? You at least have faith in knowing you arent overheating... your processor is completely healthy, and drivers aren't the issue. I want to say its now either possibly a RAM issue or even just a simple software incompatibility. Also with memtest try reseating all sticks of ram. Oh and yes the hotfix stopped all bluescreen errors.

Rage moar Heres a little hint for you... do you think your problem was the ONLY reason you'll ever get that specific code? The answer is no. What would you have done if you did the fix listed on the microsoft site and it didn't work? It's cool though. I guess its pretty easy to pretend you know what your doing with google. You're right, the KB article actually says that other issues can cause that code. That doesn't change the fact that your blanket statement about error codes is wrong. It may not lead to a solution, but on the other hand it may.
The reason that its relevant is that a good deal of computer troubleshooting is trial and error. If you get a consistent error code it can lead to an answer. It might not, but in my case the error code was the key. I did plenty of memtests prior to looking up the error code, which is your suggestion, which got me nowhere. You discrediting a potential solution is unhelpful. There's a good chance the error code won't get him anywhere, but if you discredit error codes when it could help solve his issue (or anyone's issue for that matter) then you just put him further from the answer. Especially when its not too time consuming of a process to google it. Hedge and condescend all you want, it doesn't change the fact that you were wrong in making a blanket statement.
