Soda or Pop?

Pop is a terrible genre of music and an onomatopoeia. Cola refers to a specific type/flavor of soda. I haven't had any in a while, but I've made my voice heard over this issue. There's a reason it has it's own club.
![]() Team soda! Helz yah! Lol, nah. Admittedly, that pic is bigger than it probably should be, but I'm just having a little fun with it.
I call it soda, but have hear it called pop or tonic.
We call it Pop here in Michigan.

Sip some tonic while listening to the newest cylinders on your state-of-the-art phonograph. Bismarck.Bloodbathboy said: As long as it is diet Coke, call it what you will. Also why no soda pop or fizzy pop love? :D Asura.Bartimaeus said: Pop in Iowa. Soda sounds like something a cliche' 1950's diner offers. ;b Which makes the prevalence of pop pretty funny since quite a large chunk of our states population IS from the 50's. I call it soda based on it's own definition.
Pop is just a silly slang term. Mine do. I didn't even know people called it otherwise til I started playing XI. >_>
I call Sprite Sprite.
Dr. Pepper = Dr. Pepper. Coca-cola = coke Pepsi = Pepsi etc. etc. Sylph.Tigerwoods said: I call Sprite Sprite. Dr. Pepper = Dr. Pepper. Coca-cola = coke Pepsi = Pepsi etc. etc. coke if it's a cola. Otherwise pop if you are old soda if you not
it is neither... there is only Mountain Dew
i generalize all soda as soda
not pop but will call things like coca-cola coke and all that *** Carbuncle.Lolserj said: i generalize all soda as soda not pop but will call things like coca-cola coke and all that *** I say drank for generalization
After living in several states, I've noticed this:
People in the north call it pop (makes me want to punch babies). People out west call it soda. People in Kentucky call everything coke (even dr. pepper is a "coke") People in Georgia and Florida call it soda pop. A lot of people in the midwest called it cola. I'm from Kentucky. So everything is a coke to me lol. Asura.Bartimaeus said: Pop in Iowa. Soda sounds like something a cliche' 1950's diner offers. ;b I'm from Iowa too, and I second this. Aaand I'll just leave this here. Real commercial from when I was a kid... Every time I hear someone debate about soda/pop, I think of this. http://www.popvssoda.com
Big image here since it doesn't show Canada in the one previously posted: As for me, "pop" (as most of the Canadian dots indicate). It's called a carbonated beverage :(
