Yea i sucks on time zone , i just honestly know that i am EST but i never never never remember how much time there's a difference between EST and PST or CST as an example of course..
anyway i read this morning an useless topic that wasnt a playonline news and it says.. if i remember , that Tokyo was still having some ''Blackrolling'' or whatever.. my question is simple , in Japan right now we're suposed to be March 22nd and on PoL they said that they would put the server back in on March 22nd ... im not saying that at midnight 00:00 they need to reput the server back in but i think its a good news that they didnt update the expanded delay on the shutdown

We will re-evaluate the situation on Mar. 22, 2011 (JST) and provide everyone with another update regarding this matter.

Just a matter of waiting to be honest..
bearing in mind RIGHT NOW
Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at 1:03:23 AM JST
might be a little early.. even for those affected by natural disasters.
I think they will also need to *** the situation when they wake up get to work etc. I cant see them getting up and "flipping the switch" as such. They said they'd provide update on 22nd so I wouldnt be suprised if you dont hear anything for the next 9 hours.

EST and JST currently have a 13h difference, so atm, its 1am JST. I highly doubt people at SE expected to take a decision at midnight. A decision should be taken in a couple of hour.

It's now 01:04 am JST, March 22 in Japan. The announcement will come in 23 or so hours, probably less. If you have a world clock on your cell phone, use it. If it's 10am EST, it's 9am CST, 8am MST and 7am PST

Well I think the Japanese people/Government want to get their businesses back to business.. Nothing heals like normalcy returning to your lives after a traumatic event, and they want to stabilize their economic issues quickly no doubt.
I expect the servers to come back up at some point today, but I don't mind them having some coffee , reading the newspaper , and maybe having some breakfast before they do :P
Unbelievable kudos to the Japanese people for the way they conduct themselves under pressure and terrible circumstances.

I agree with this.. i have a feeling it will be up..
Else why would they only delay it by a few days instead of another week?
Yes they'll still have enforced blackouts in certain areas.. but wasnt it mentioned before that these servers/offices are in areas that have only been affected by the "do the rest of the country" regime rather than any "actual" tsunami effect?
might be wrong and it was just hearsay tho.

At risk of sounding pretentious or snarky, (apologies), there's technically no such thing as "JST" or "JDT."
They only have one time zone and don't practice daylight savings time, so it's just "Japan Time" (日本時刻).

The last time they posted anything was 5PM PST, so assume around that time we should know something, or sometime after that for that matter.
Probably after 5 more hours we MAY have an update...

google says:
Japan Standard Time
Quote: Japan Standard Time or JST (Japanese: 日本標準時 Nihon Hyōjunji or 中央標準時 Chūō Hyōjunji) is the standard timezone of Japan, and is 9 hours ahead of UTC. For example, when it is midnight (00:00) in UTC, it is 9 am (09:00) in Japan Standard Time. There is no daylight saving time, though its introduction has been debated several times. Japan Standard Time is the same as Korea Standard Time, Eastern Indonesia Standard Time and Yakutsk Time. During World War II, it was often called Tokyo Standard Time in Western contexts.

It could imply that J-man was just referring to the fact that Japan doesn't practice daylight savings time.

think its referred to as JST purely to the fact that timezones are shorthanded to three letters regardless of whether they observe daylight savings or not
CET, UTC, JST, BST, GMT etc etc
(ps jaerik nice "search" change..)
