Guys, we need better protections from EARTHQUAKES and TSUNAMIS! Ok, first things, lets knock down every building in the country, and rebuild them to be completely resilient to those 2 natural disasters.

Now lets build this MEGA 700ft wide wall all around the entire *** country so no stray tsunamis get in and take out anyone who was foolish enough to step outside their tsunami proof houses. Hey government, we need all the nations funds to build this super wall. By the way, we're going to have to draft most people off their existing day jobs to make sure this is finished before the next potential earthquake in water+tsunami combo.

Now lets knock down our nuclear reactors every year and build new ones, because safety is our top concern! What there's no more money left after the wall?? Thats okay we'll borrow it off that country over there.

Hey we need more hospitals and medical staff. Sorry medical, there's no more money for you. Its okay we'll borrow some off this country for you. Oh no our country has no money or resources cause we blew it all on the WALL! Its okay we'll have to import all our food and water from that country over there.

Hey guys the military needs urgent funding, some terrorists just flew over the wall and are attacking us. I know right? I cant believe they got past the WALL. Oh well lets borrow some funds off that country over there-

Rest of the world: No *** you we need our money to support our own people to keep them alive and healthy!

Now, lets repeat this wonderful plan in every other country of the world to protect people from tsunamis and earthquakes, because obviously people dont need to care about the cost of these things

by building 700 feet thick walls 100 feet high off the coast with gates to allow ships through like that shits hard

Are you serious? Please tell me you aren't serious. Yeah! Let's build a wall around the entire parameter of the nuclear stations (plants, whatever) because I'm sure that is cheaper than the safety measure's they had in place.

I'm not sure much of anything could have withstood the force of that tsunami. If something like that happened on the East or West coast of the US, we would be screwed... horribly horribly screwed.

That is such a crap argument. Cost/Benefit analysis do not sound nice....but you make those assessments everyday of your life. Right now you are choosing to spend money on having the internet rather than donating that money to a worthy cause. Does that mean you value human life less because you repeatedly post online rather than helping others?

Actually Japan has had a procreation ratio issue for a long time now.
They're simply not breeding in a rate satisfactory to the rate at which people are dying. ESPECIALLY now ;/

Well, a lot of people died. And honestly, who is in the mood to make babies (even out of obligation) after such a horrific disaster? ._.
If anything it'll discourage young adults from wanting to bring life into a cold and unforgiving world after having experienced it first hand.

This is addressed in Jaerik's posts in the main Japan earthquake / tsunami thread. Ask your questions there. Locking thread as a duplicate.
