Hey, there's no secrets here.
But I'll tell ya something.
Not that it ever hurts anyone. =)

Make yourself fall asleep. It's amazing what the brain can do and once I figured out how to do it to myself, I can fall asleep through most anything :D

Write a book and give it to me.
One of my IRL friends actually has hair that covers her eyes so she can fall asleep beside me in class and I won't even notice until I try to talk to her

You know, it's about time I got myself a music playing device.
Sadly I don't know any other device other than the ipod that can load and put into signal, individualized equalizer settings.

Probably due to lack of comfort with earphones and all, but I'd just plug mine into my speakers via mini-jack and load up a playlist, long enough to put me into the disposition and phase of falling asleep and fades out to silence.

I don't know how to explain it..you just do it, like making your heartbeat faster and slower. The book would basically consist of:
Go to sleep. When you wake up in the morning, you hath succeeded!

I know what you're saying. It's a manner of putting your mind in the state required to go to sleep. Focused motivation so to speak until it manifests into the desired effect.
Unfortunately it's not as easy for everyone to pull off ;/

I'd rather train myself to have lucid dreams, than just fall asleep on command. If I could do whatever I wanted inside my head when I did fall asleep, I'd gladly suffer through Insomnia.
I used to be able to force myself to have certain types of dreams.. I couldn't control every aspect of the dream, invariably my mind would work other elements into it as well, but I could still pick out some core elements I wanted to dream that night.
I can't do it anymore =/ it just stopped working.

You know what would be rad?
One of those dream machine thingies from Inception.
Too bad you'd need someone to set it up and supervise you to make it work.

Too bad you'd need someone to set it up and supervise you to make it work. Yeah the whole time I was watching that movie I was like "I want one! ; ;". Although I'd like to pass on some of the side effects, like limbo or violent subconscious people <_<. I would literally give just about anything to be able to do lucid dreaming. I've tried to be able to, supposedly anyone can do it, but I failed, even after years of trying.
I've only ever had one lucid dream, and that was before I even knew what the term was or that there was such a thing.

Yeah thats hard. Lucid dreaming in my opinion isn't as lucid as one might think like you are in the real world. When I'm dreaming I know I'm dreaming, but it's hard to control everything. I don't even know how you would explain it since you do it sort of unconsciously, but just the other night I dreamed I was being hunted by someone and I was hiding behind this thingy and I remember talking in my head saying "I'm dreaming, I can do anything" and I was trying to make myself invisible. Dunno if I succeeded or not because that's all I remember before waking up lol.
And I just thought, just train yourself to do both lol.

Probably psychological that you're trying too hard or something, and subconsciously hurting yourself because you know you are failing...stuff like that in my experience is really about total relaxation. I know two times in my life where I was totally relaxed enough and didn't even know the difference between reality and when I was dreaming until I jolted and woke up (you know that feeling)

I enjoy those things where I can tell that it is not real. I usually end up thinking of some famous actress and *** her. TMI but who cares.
Thinking of things like jumping higher than normal was always fun too.

And I just thought, just train yourself to do both lol. Dreams for me only seem unreal after I wake up, when I'm asleep they're as real and vivid to me as just flat out being awake. That's probably one of the reasons I can't have lucid dreams, because one of the first steps is you have to recognize that you're asleep. When most people describe how they dream to me, and then compare it to myself, most people seem to dream in television of about 1950's.. While I dream in full 1080p HD.

As *** up as the concept is, and was potrayed in the movie. I almost like the idea of living an extended life of perfection in dreams. Knowing I could simply wake up and return to life as I pleased; yet have a utopia available on demand that slows the process of reality down, thus extending life and all the splendors therein subconsciously. Though it may not be real; your mind makes it real to no one but yourself.

That's interesting. Usually the more vivid the better your prospects. It almost sounds to me like you're sleeping too heavily, which would also explain your insomnia. Can't fall asleep, but when you do its BOOM powered asleep. (If I'm analyzing correctly)

Yeah I know what you mean, it would be nice. But I think one of the things you might realize after attaining some semblance of control over your dreams, is that the real world is better. Yes it's exciting going to sleep and enjoyable, but so is being awake, ya know~ And things like burnout, where you may just get sick of it (happens to everything imo)
My main source of entertainment is gone. Use to play till I crashed. Not having much luck with other games and movies right now either.
What is everyone's way of getting tired?
