Soo... Diablo 3 anyone?
I got invited into the BETA.. I tried it out, it held my attention for about 45 minutes...
Darn shame SE ruined FFXI.
Like its predecessor, Diablo III would have been PERFECT between HNM windows and gathering at DL zergs, and the like. Yea I've been aching for a game to play while I watch TV in the background. Starcraft used to fix that but not so much anymore :x

Blizzard isn't selling you anything. They're facilitating trades between players in a player-driven economy. Just imagine Jeuno AH and then imagine a special, different AH in Whitegate where prices are "crysta" instead of gil. You're not paying the crysta to SE (though they will surely take a small fee) and SE is not providing you with an item. Despite their sincerest efforts, SE has been unable to abolish RMT. It happens, all day, every day. You cannot remove users who one way or another exchange virtual goods with money. They are in every MMO whether it's officially condoned or not. I can certainly see balance problems in flat out providing the item directly from the company. They can make as many as they want, and charge whatever they want. But keeping it with the players, the amount of items are fixed to whatever gets dropped on a given day, and the prices will be competitive just as they would with the in-game currency. So again, what's the problem? Second I have a barely coherent comprehension of what you have written. "but just people the time in guys" is among other features incomprehensible to me. It is not an insult towards you; I simply don't understand what you're saying. My first analysis of your retort was that you reject the player-to-player transaction thesis which is what D3 has condoned. Upon subsequent readings, I've decided likely you have no idea how Diablo operates and thus would not understand how Blizzard is encouraging players to sell to each other, not to produce "items" (that otherwise wouldn't exist) and sell to all players. This is a fundamental difference. If we were to imagine SE offering your ownership of a Kraken Club for $999.99, a code then dispatched to you ingame to redeem at your local moogle, we're talking about a very general F2P model. If, on the other hand, I wished to sell my own club for money instead of gil, I would not have to resort to playerauctions or otherwise that are likely to get you scammed, because I can find people, within the designed game structure, that will pay me for it in real deniros. Blizzard in this function is working almost exactly like eBay, a service that ironically enough I used over 10 years ago to "unofficially" sell goods I found raiding the game to other players. Goods I found (that I created) to other people playing the game. I honestly can't remember eBay's policies over 10 years ago, but I'm most certain I payed them at least 9 cents per sale, which is money Blizzard has figured "oh, I want that" and is completely progressive in figuring so. That is not F2P. It's a different structure, and while labeling the whole thing as "RMT" may be comforting to some, it is to me an extreme injustice of terminology. The stigma attached to this word, at least in the case of D3, needs to be dispelled because D3 is a fundamentally different machine. Bought it preorder a while back, hope I'm not let down like FFXIV preorder did (I didn't fork over Collectors Edition price this time though like I did FFXIV).
Blizz finally caught on to all of us making money with D2 (and in turn ebay making money through us) so they figured out a way to get a cut this time around. Still never forgot cashing a money order at my bank and the girl asking me "wow $1500 for a video game?" My first Windforce sold on ebay, a sign of things to come <3 Bahamut.Bekisa said: » Bought it preorder a while back, hope I'm not let down like FFXIV preorder did (I didn't fork over Collectors Edition price this time though like I did FFXIV). My first Windforce sold on ebay, a sign of things to come <3 i think this is the only reason i might start playing d3, if at all :S Seems like I won't be able to play when it comes out. Fan on my video card died 5 days ago and I've been going through the RMA process ever since. Just now got the information for it. I have to send it across the country (North Carolina to California) for them to spend 1-2 weeks RMAing it, then have to wait for it to get back to me.. Meanwhile D3 drops in <1 week
Muwhaahh got a replacement video card that will be returned when my older one is RMA'd (I know I knows just go read the thread that I posted on it before you comment) so now I can play D3 on launch :D 3 more days, extreme boredom.

Phoenix.Bomber said: » I hate the camera angle D3 has lol....and it looks like its not an open world many invisible walls I take it you haven't played many Diablo games before have you? D2 = D3 with slightly better graphics and new jobs that kind of do the same as the old ones
Unless they add Druid its a no for me :< Odin.Gosuapple said: » Asura.Lilbuttons said: » You sure about that? Odin.Gosuapple said: » Asura.Lilbuttons said: » You sure about that? I thought it was the 15 and tomorrow is the 14th. Servers are going up at 12 AM PST on the 15th (so Monday night). So if you got a digital copy of the game or have a store that will be open at midnight to sell it, you can play in a little over 24 hours. Personally, I just ordered off amazon with day of release delivery. I don't need to be staying up after midnight and not getting to sleep when I gotta get up and go to work in the morning. This way it will be on my door step when I get home Tuesday and I can do chores while it installs. Wife wont *** this way, I get at least a few hours to play day of release. Anyone else sad they changed Deckard Cain's voice? It used to have a nice Sean Connery feel to it. Alas, no more.

Odin.Gosuapple said: » Anyone else sad they changed Deckard Cain's voice? It used to have a nice Sean Connery feel to it. Alas, no more. Meh he dies after act 1, will hardly notice the difference. RMT AH cost (Europe) for place up:
1€ per item (gear). 15% of the price the item sold for. (consumeables) Transfer Battle.net to Paypal (or other methods if avaible) costs 15% of the transfered money. this means if sold consumeables for 10€ only 7,23€ would be transfered to the bank account. I wouldn't say "only" =D
I'll definitely be using this if at all possible. 7.23 is still a large portion of 10 considering it's from virtual items. Flat rate for gear? That doesn't make much sense, considering items in D2 cost anywhere from $5 to $1000+
Shh don't let them know! Hahaha
Ragnarok.Kongming said: » Flat rate for gear? They are trying to make every *** soul on earth play it. It's not based on skill, it's a story MMOish and it's nothing new. Pretty! ..but nothing new.
Auto skill. How lame. Can you click the mouse for us too? Ragnarok.Kongming said: » Nope he dies from wounds in a battle, and Tyrael and whats her face cremate him before leaving New Tristram to set off to the next act. We have spoilers for a reason guys... seriously
I wouldnt believe anything coming from Neko, lol.
So EU launch happened a little over an hour ago (midnight CEST), and apparently it's an absolute nightmare to get in. The NA launch in 8 hours is only going to compound the problem, so if anyone's really expecting to "play" this at midnight, I hope you enjoy your rage filled night of Error 37.
