Error: POL-3001

Anyone have any idea what this error means?
Get to loading past the char select screen and get "No response from FFXI server" "Connection timed out" any ideas?

POL-3001 is a crappy connection..
Have a firewall up?
Any other software that might be restricting/blocking the game?
Have you changed anything recently with your router?
Have you recently switched ISP's?
Have you installed any new security software, or updated any?

Hmmm ive got steady ADSL 2+ wireless connection and have never had issues before connecting...and my anti-virus has never interfered before either =/ what else can do it?

Hmmm reset my modem and i could log in....wow weird... cheers dude

I edited in more questions. It's possible that you're not the only one with this issue, if the answer to all those questions above is no, the only thing I can think to try is a modem and router reset.. Unplug your router, unplug the modem and remove the incoming line, leave it unplugged for like a minute, then plug everything back in.
