There's sugar-coated honesty and then there's purely blunt honesty. I'm pretty sure Ash and I are both of the blunt school. XD

Go make a new character now with your name on that distination server so no one can onpurposley screw you over. It happened in the last merge, then just delete the character a few mins before maint.

I think thats why SE shut down character creation. I was going to do that. I have other names in mind just in case, but I'm so used to people calling me by my real name would be weird.

I was in a linkshell with Tuvae twice in the same year. I advised him to spend his money improving his other slots (ie haste over barone pieces) back when Zahak's was to the tune of 3m. He was newish and did not take my advice. I have busted his balls ever since :3
I was definitely not as blunt with Tuvae as I normally am and I still like the kid. It's nice to see him doing better.
If i ever came off as abbrasive then I suppose it was learned behavior. When i was a budding dragoon the "established" drgs were massive assclowns. The mithra gungnir on the server was regularly clowned by AH gear dragoons. The one dragoon I had temporary interaction with (trying to get dynamis clears) was some dickcheese who had raped a ls for gil and bought *** poor gear. He spent the whole of the dynamis runs going on about how awesome he was and how poor of a drg i was. I couldnt afford the 18 mil Scorpion Harness and I didn't yet have the friends to get a Assault Jerkin (jesus im old). He was, and still is, a jackass. He is widely regarded as having some of the worst logic on the server and I could direct you to whole threads of him trying to argue a bad point with this whole forum, and sounding like an ***.

tl;dr: I really wasn't that hard on you and when i was a kid we had it much worse. Uphill both ways etc.

I made an attempt to give you good advice and you didn't take it. I then attempted to "playfully" bust your balls about it. If you didn't take it that way I'm truly sorry. If it makes you feel any better I have been much much much worse to others and I do think you're a good kid :3

The whole name thing would really piss me off. I've grown quite attached to my name over the years and I feel for anyone having to change theirs. Particularly if they see the person with their old name, or worse yet, if that person quit in 2005 and you still have to change.

Forgot to answer someone's question regarding WoE.

In the last 2 weeks, during weeknights (EST 7-11-ish), WoE is emptied except for a few people (1-4). If you're looking for group, Sat/Sun morning during JP peak time is probably your best bet, there are usually 12-20 ppl and mostly just sit and wait for #2 to re-open.
