point is, the rate system is useless

As is ranting about it being useless.

as in creating an entire thread about is is even useless.

i'd say keep the rating system if it wasn't obvious people generally aren't rated up or down by the content of their post, but more due to their "popularity".

Right now rate up/rate down system is almost completely pointless to follow because of the above reason. If people don't like you here for whatever reason your ratings will almost always be negative, regardless if the information you're saying is correct.

This is misleading to people who browse FFXIAH forums and may not know that this kind of thing goes on, They may look at a posts ratings and assume what the person said is wrong, when in fact the person saying it could have been right, maybe he said it in a douche-way, but then we got even just 1 person whos going to be mislead by this system.

Basically it does need to go, Maybe keep the Rating system for Items/etc, But it needs to be removed for Forums/ personal Pages. It really serves no purpose there.

See I believe the rating system has a purpose. Its like a audience, they either applaud, or they boo. You don't need every person in the audience to tell you, "I don't like your performance" when they can boo and applaud.

I would agree with that, but it is so easy to create "fake audience members" here. Arguably, it's very vain and pointless to go through the trouble of making numerous "sock" accounts, but because it's as simple as creating a new hotmail email account (or 6 or 10 or 20) the system loses its integrity after a while. (And yes, some people are that bored at times.) :p

rating... frick, where do i begin to despise this... it is a nice option, but people are really starting to abuse this crap... ffs, you should be able to some how see who rated you down, or atleast be given the option to dispute it.....
