Gantz is also particularly interesting. Lots of swearing. Full frontal.. actually shows sex scene. And tons of guns violence blood and death.
Unfortunately they toned it down a bit for the live action version

To me it seems like bankai doesnt really make you stronger, just gives you new techniques (unless your Ichigo) byakuya was able to take on kenpachi without using his bankai or shikai , in 1 of the filler episodes

protip, because I don't think anyone has mentioned it yet: Never watch English dubbed anime, it's terrible (with a few exceptions). Seeing as you've only seen Naruto and Bleach, I'm assuming you saw them on American TV.
Also, Naruto and Bleach are bad examples to base your interest in anime off of.

Toward the end, Ichigo's bankai wasn't as powerful. It seems like he was always in Bankai, and he was always getting his *** kicked in his Bankai lol.

I think the lil girl being molested, and the puppy being beaten was the most wtf moments in the show, even though it didnt really "show" it it just heavily implied that it happend.

Actually I enjoyed watching the dubs, I actually hated reading the subtitles at first. But since the dubbed Bleach was so far behind, I had to bite the bullet and start watching the subs; otherwise, at the rate adult swim releases a dub, I'd finish watching bleach by the time I'm in my 80's.

I usually prefer gritty action and sci-fi anime, or an amazing comedy (read: Golden Boy). There is waaaaay too much fillerdom (hi2u Bleach and Naruto) and archetypal *** (MOEEEEEEEEEE!!1!1one!1!! and what the ***is Touhou) to sift through to even enjoy something new these days, so it's hard for me to catch my interest in a lot of anime for me. I don't blame the OP, because there are some really good titles out there and too often they get overshadowed.
