hey just wanted to know is there a way to stop or remove the ffxi music during login / character select? After 6 or 7 years its gotten just annoying.

On PC you can rename files around so it plays some other ingame song you like.

You can also be creative and put an own song using an encoder tool for the PlayOnline BGW format.

For PS2/XBOX360, tough luck.

If you're using windows vista/7, you can adjust volume for individual programs. Just turn POL/FFXI to the lowest, or can just dat swap it out.

I just checked Config and such, seems that the only way is to either copy the file to another folder, and then either change it, or record a sound file and import it into the folder, granted it's in bgw format. Sorry there's not an easier way ~ B

If you're thinking of muting the dolphin (PlayOnline Viewer) too:

.\Program Files\PlayOnline\SquareEnix\PlayOnlineViewer\viewer\data\system\bgm

Files contain their names and numbers so you can shoot the dolphin easily... :P
