I always thought the concept of innocence was such ***.
Life demands experience, and with it comes great rewards and subsequently punishment. But even with mistakes and suffering, you learn something, you take it with you, and you live on top of it in triumph. Pleasure is meaningless without pain, and vice versa. Why would anyone want to be stuck in perpetual purgatory while living?

The corruption usually takes place early. If a girl reaches their mid-twenties and is still the epitome of chastity and purity then they are usually a deluded sort.

I can think of only one person who I know who was a virgin until twenty-five, and she had this silly notion that she would find some grand, romantic scenario abroad. I told her what to expect, and we she came back...God! That river of tears! I could only respond with, "I told you so!"

Naivete is simply ignorance and a lack of life-experience.
