Random Thoughts.....What are you thinking?

Some of the stuff they sell direct to newegg etc. Also you're getting ripped off if you're getting 4gigs on a gaming rig. 4 gigs is bare minimum for os these days. it's odd, but I rarely go over about 4 in normal use (sitting at about 2.14 right now) out of 8, but I don't do much virtualization, or gaming or photoshop etc on this thing anymore. I personally wouldn't get that thing no matter who made it if it's got a crap cpu and gpu in it, $550 is a good bit, it better come with something rather baller, I mean it's not too much, but as far as budget PC's go, it is (imo). for what's probably in it, I'd expect for $400, if she has a budget I can try to find something good, but not until Friday, unless I'm really bored in class tomorrow afternoon, as I have a busy day tomorrow and I'm going to sleep soon. IMO also, in regards to dell: the xps and alienware lines are excuses for them to charge more, not much else (in my opinion). Yea i told her in pm's to see if she can get the guy to lower the price, otherwise she'd be better off with something better. I bought a cheapo 20$ one in addition to the "integrated" one and never had a problem with either :p bought an Asus Xonar DG soundcard. paid 12$ for it cause had a 20$ NE giftcard lol. the problem I'm having is that, whenever i plug in my headphone 3.5mm jack in all the way, it sounds wierd as fux and no bass response lol. when i pull the jack out a tiny bit, it works 100% :/ wierd stuff is wierd my experience with their products has been superb so far, not sure about their support. No i haven't i literally came home on break between classes (usually don't) saw my package freaked out and installed the card rq. So i haven't had that much time to mess with it yet, I'm going to try putting the Front panel passthrough in and see if it works fine from the front. lol but yea wierd :s Jetackuu said: » that is odd, have you looked into it much? or tried to contact Asus? my experience with their products has been superb so far, not sure about their support. That being said Ghal, my current mobo has lasted over 5 years np, once you get a good card you'll be ok. If you're going to constantly be unplugging replugging the mic, i'd get it replaced because the problem will only get worse with wear. How much would you say I could get away with if I built my own computer? Something to play current gen games skyrim etc.
800-1200 for a solid rig, but if you really want to get into it it could go higher.
Eh not bad I suppose. Which would you say is more important the ram or graphics card? (I know where stuff goes not much more than that)
Cerberus.Eugene said: » 800-1200 for a solid rig, but if you really want to get into it it could go higher. Doesn't that sound a bit high? If you work with the deals on Newegg you can make a solid PC for 1000.

Doesn't that sound a bit high? 800, with monitor is probably minimum you could get away with for a solid system. 1200 is the upper end for a mid range system. Bismarck.Dreadnot said: » If you work with the deals on Newegg you can make a solid PC for 1000. i could build a "solid" pc for 600~800. No bells and whistles though and don't expect a GTX 690 >.> Oh nice so I should go with the best graphics card I can afford then yeah?
Shiva.Arana said: » Oh nice so I should go with the best graphics card I can afford then yeah? Uh, not particularly. Nearing the upper end the price increases don't match the performance increases. I'd find a system and ask on here. A solid mid range card can last you a long time without problems. Bismarck.Dreadnot said: » Shiva.Arana said: » Eh not bad I suppose. I'm with jet on this one, I only have 8gigs in my pc and i've never seen it go over 4 like ever. anything over 8gb is overkill unless you are a super heavy photoshop/video editing person. (or virtual machine user) I have 2 8g sticks still in package that i was going to put in my pc but just never got around to it cause i honestly don't need it lol. ![]() 60 dollars for ram?

There are several budget value GPU's out there. but honestly depends on your budget for your gpu. do you want to spend $100? $200? $300? $500? Budget yourself for your card first then shop within the budget. Damn where you people buy your ram at. >.> I paied 35$ for 12gigs I bet I could build a solid rig bells and whistles for like 700 easy.

I hit 70%+ ram usage on my 12gigs a lot. But then I'm not your average person either.
