I'm lucky enough to have relatively friendly and reliable room mates that are also co-workers.

Ah that's good. It's great to volunteer and get yourself out there, and get something, no matter how minor documented to your personal credentials. What are some fields that interest you in regards to majoring or minoring in? Sometimes the best thing to do is try a bit of everything. No reason education can't be like a Vegas buffet, but generally you'll want to pick one that works out best for you.
I want to do Museum Studies. I just really would love to be surrounded my old art and books. As a curator or even a person within the public relations aspect of the field is just amazing in my mind.
I don't look/nor act the part of someone would would major in such a thing but my god if I could I would.

Ah, so in what manner would you want to be involved? A scholar of history? Or perhaps something more hands on, like archaeology, anthropology, or even paleontology? I think despite being practical in terms of earning capital, it would most certainly be a worthwhile career to fulfill your interests at heart.
