I could do that, too.
So, something in shadowy areas that shows up, says something weird, then runs away? :D
How about... you only show up in another area after you've been encountered in a previous area... then if the player encounters you enough times, they can find you outside of battle for a change and you give a reward? :O

Tilesets are gonna kill me lol... 32x32 pixels per tile, and for grass, at least, I have to draw one pixel, switch to another colour, draw another pixel, switch to another colour, etc...
