I think most of us would get a device of equal function with a little extra coolness if it meant pitching in a little extra cash.
Within reason of course, I'm not honestly gonna blow $30 on a piece of paper xD

I'm sure you mean now that it's 'obsolete.' A lot of people will tell you it has a vintage sound. It's the same reason musicians will use old instruments/recording stuff sometimes.

Also, DJ's for scratching or doing what they do.

No one uses a Stradivarius for a 'vintage sound' they use it for it's superior sound. I dunno if it's the same for all instruments..
