Well it only offers a certain amount, based on time in service, but for what I'm getting, my ***is completely covered (and then some). So I'm hoping to get some decent money from the "excess" per semester to pay for my books and some other ***I need.

I'd have to see where it's coming from, but the numbers still don't make sense.

There could be many variables that explain why its so different. $300 wouldn't even cover what I paid for books though...

Broadening? Nah. I'm getting the official certs for doing what I love/do best. I plan on going to community college locally here, until I get my associates, then going to Le Cordon Bleu in Atlanta until that is done. That is a pretty expensive and nationally recognized school (if not worldly recognized).

Grats! We have branches of Le Cordon Bleu here and in Houston and Dallas I think. A friend went to the one here for a bit, but 6th Street caught up to him, so he retreated back to Houston. He's doing great now though! I'm sure you'll be set after school!
