Deactivated again. This time probably for good. It just didn't feel the same, anymore. It was fun going back for a bit, but I just wasn't interested, even when I was leveling with my brother from the beginning.

One of the now greedy Anet's designs to pretty much force you into buying more character slots from their store if you want to have all the classes. A character slot costs 800 gems and to get 3 of them, you're looking at roughly 30$ iirc. In-game currency to gems is at a horrible rate right now due to their recent loot nerfs to PvE/WvWvW. (They still haven't admitted to nerfing drops, was a ninja one that player testing found. (They were supposed to increase drop rates but instead nerfed them.))

Any non-heavy armor class is going to be squishy up until the higher levels. :P
