In 1.0 the battle system didn't fully mature untill 40+, before that it was very basic and perhaps a bit like WoW, can't say for sure since I havn't played. Once you started learning the 3ed steps to your combos though being sloppy and failing to compleate them on a regular basis could put you at 50%, or even 30% if you were really bad, of the damage of a DD who was on the ball. They have certainly simplified it some and sped up the combat making it appear they are just spamming stuff but if you watch they are quite controlled in what they are doing (on the lancer atleast). I'll say it again, this video is kinda crappy way to make any judgement because the level is too low... The thing that stood out as weird and messed up was that Keen Flurry is a parry boost >.>

I never used combos, maybe I'm weird or I stopped playing before it was in the game (or was it always? lol).

Some how I scored a 216.50 out of 25 on a test. Dem bonus questions.

The combo system was added back in Jaunuary I think, it wasn't in the game originally. Certain weapon skills would trigger an option to combo with others based on posistioning. For example Fast blade in frount could chain to Flat blade for bonus enmity generation, Riot blade from behind to Rage of Halone with an acc bonus, archer/bards needed to be far enough away to trigger it and so on. Comboed WS didn't use tp either so it was a huge part of your damage and could be hard to time on some bosses that moved around quite a bit (yes Darnus I'm looking at you teleporting ***).

They had another system in place before that didn't they where you worked with other characters right? Can't remember what it was called and don't pretend to know wtf went on with it but they did say they were bringing it back to work in conjunction with the combo system I think.
