I go back to these tables each time I look at boards, and I love the lga 1155 for right now. (as of 2 months ago when I last looked (ancient in technology terms I know) the best price/performance were on quad core i5's and i7's and the 1155 socket.

that being said:

the z68 would be great.

or the q77, those two support the most technologies.

personally I'd probably go with the z68, they're cheaper, more common and don't have all the protection tools embedded in them, which can get severely annoying, even if you disable them in the bios.

edit: I believe in both the i5 and the i7's the "k" versions are overclockable, and iirc the i5 2500k will smoke a lot of i7's, there's a few others that keep up with it better and probably would disagree as my information may be a bit dated.

there's also some ivy bridge cpu's out now, which would probably give better performance, but I really haven't looked.

With higher bitrates I tend to go VBR, especially when you get those weird moments of silence between performances, or if you're like Nirvana and throw in 20 minutes of silence after a song to troll people.

with vbr you can get away with a lower base though...

I've never actually truly played with it, and for me it often depends on the speakers. If I have cheap speakers/headphones I won't hear it anyway as they won't output those signals, but if they're nice speakers/headphones they'll sound like ***with low bitrate.

When I replaced some speakers in my older car, I'm like wow, I never heard those symbols before.

Went to bed after Legion last night, and now i'm awake but still sleepy.

Also, i wanna buy those boxes of chocolate, the ones with 120 bars or so in them for halloween handouts, and just sit there snacking on them while the trick-or-treaters watch.

I also miss the days when i was out looking for candy too, because i would get the full size stuff with popcans and pop bottles, and every year would be three or four garbage bags full
