honestly, before talking with the LoL crew over skype/vent, I was kinda reserved (shy-er?) over joining a voice group,, now not so much, and even then I dont talk too much, and got to meet new cool people.

as for FFXI, I feel like im done with the game, and I do see what Flav is saying. After my LS broke apart a couple years ago, pretty much been wandering trough the server by myself, and while I was invited to a couple LS' and its been fun and what not, but the things I want/need rarely overlapped.

I dont have the resources to make an empy by myself, nor I want to burden friends with it and let em do most of the work for me, when they have finished their own...

VW was rather fun, even tho drops sucked, fighting VWNM was amusing, until I hit a wall with VWNM clears....

TL;DR, people are awesome, game is blaah.

Do you guys use Vent or Skype or some other program to talk? I've noticed that's a huge difference. My friends and I were like glue whenever we did whatever we did, and that's because we were always in contact with each other. I would log in on vent and say what's up before I even log into the game. Youse guys should try that approach.

I used to but that was back when I played on Lakshmi... a lot of people either don't like to now or its like "we have to be friends longer than this to talk with our voices" idk... lol...

That's something I don't understand. It's almost like a catch 22. "We're not close enough to hear each others' voices." "What's the best way to get closer as friends?" "Well, we'll need to talk firsthand; probably by talking in real time." "You mean on a place where we can hear each others' voices?" "We're not close enough to hear each others' voices." Honestly, I would think that'd be the best way to coordinate yourselves. Once you get past that ice-breaking phase, you'll find it's better off. Again though, this is just one janitor's opinion.

It's the best way to *** too... plus typing is annoying when you can actaully talk but I understand that some people can;t or just don't want to too... plus you also don't get any of that akward oh I misinterpreted how you typed stuff lol... though you do have to watch out for the people that breath right into/eat the mic.. lol...

That happens all the time on my vent. I have a friend in Puerto Rico that loves chewing on ice, so every once in a while I'll hear the clunk of ice chunks colliding into each other before its replaced with that teeth shattering crunch. And he has a Turtle Beach headset so you can hear him eating ice in HD! But really it's more funny than annoying; at least to me.

We had a couple that would set there mic to start up when they would start speaking... and some would set the threshold too low and then would not wear headphones so everyone would hear themselves echo lol... that would get annoying... always hearing your own voice on top of your own voice right after lol...

Overall I prefer voice chat though...

I didn't ever really get the self-conscious nature people had about their voices as you know it's your voice and all and people hear it every day and such... but then again if someone is ripping on you for it then I can understand a bit more... but I guess I think then why would you talk to those certain individuals again... idk...

I like skype for the most part but back when I was in a LS and there was a bunch of us gettting on normaly I would get a vent server for the LS... too many in skype at once and it gets shaky...
