Woot, I'm home from the Young Life Olympics. I didn't stay for the whole thing cause it got pretty cold and none of us were prepared for that so we only ended up watching a couple of events and then leaving (on the bright side dinner was on time after all lol)
I sang the National Anthem in the opening ceremony, right after the running of the "torch" It was pretty fun.
First time singing in front of an audience in over 10yrs and I think I did ok, I guess...I started off too high though but on the bright side of that I actually hit all the notes without a crackle, so I'm pretty stoked...
wish I'd remembered my camera so I could have had a video because of course the only part I heard was myself echoing back to me out of the PA speakers...I sounded off to myself but my friends and family that went said it sounded fine (though they could just be saying this to make me feel ok) :(
Anyway, I'm back now, YAY!
*EDIT* I did have a minor problem...the organizers made a flier and printed my name wrong (like totally wrong last name...) and then the announcer said the wrong name when he introduced me...he corrected himself after the song but it was still a bit embarrassing you know? I just smiled and went on with the show like nothing was wrong but I was kinda sad inside.
