Maybe if you have a military grade microwave or something...but there are tons of ***that asks you to put water in this plastic cup of noodles and nuke it.

I think it's different if you just warm up the water without anything else in it. It can explode if you're unlucky and since the water is above the boiling point it'll give you severe burns

I dont understand what nucleation is, but I havent seen or heard of anyone getting burned from exploding steam from a microwave yet in my career.
