We had a black lab for the first couple years after i was born... when my parents started picking up more hours at work though we wern't home enough to be fair to him though so ended up giving him up to some friends of my parents who owned a farm. Yes this was a real farm not "the farm" that parents normally tell their kids about lol.
It was kinda funny though he ran straight out the door into their van (they had 2 young kids and he loved kids) and never looked back at us once. Also had 2 cats, one of which was pritty much best friends with him and the other would always slap him around alot. When i would play/sleep on the floor he would always lie with me too, still suprised at the ammont of memorys I have of this dog.

dogs are awesome, but then you have to watch them get old and get sicker and sicker. then you remember when they would be so hyper before :<
I want to get a golden retriever or lab.

Dogs and cats often tend to get along fairly well actually... perticularly if one or both are still younger and you keep them out of eachother food... which is very very important because cat food can cause all kinds of problems for dogs (i think it can actually make them go blind on some cases). The biggest thing would be to make sure your cat still gets lots of love or she/he will get *** and start stuff.
in all honesty i couldnt see myself with out a dog in my life no matter how old i am xD ive always had dogs :P

Me too. It's almost been a year and a half since Ranger died, and this cat is just not cutting it. I love him, but he's an ***. I miss dogs.

I had a German Shepard/Husky mix for some time because a friend couldn't care for him anymore >.> He was so sad everytime i had to leave him alone at home.. I think dogs need a family to be really happy :/
