I restrained myself from getting into a messy argument with my professor this morning.

So I have an 8am class for a computer sciencey subject. Today we had to take a quiz. I just happened to enter the class around 8:02am and people were already taking the quiz. So I found a seat quickly pulled my pen and paper out and starting scribbling answers. Meanwhile a few other people came in through the class slightly late as well and did the same. After about 3 minutes the prof says "For those who started the quiz at 8, turn them in and those who haven't continue to work." So i'm like sweet a few extra minutes to get down the last of my answers. He collects the quizes and starts his lecture. Then its like err... Guess I'll just sit the quiz to the side and put it close to the edge of my desk (btw I sit right in front of the guy) so it will show him I stopped writing answers down and that I was finished. After the 1 hour 20 min lecture is over, he gives us our take home assignments and dimisses the class. Well I go up to him and ask him if I can turn in the quiz or that because I was a little bit tardy will he not take it.
He gives me the replay back saying "I asked for the quizes before I started the lecture"
I reply with "But you said those who started the quiz at 8, what about the people who showed up 1 to 2 minutes late?"
His response "Sorry can't take it"
