i explained it to him all the recent games i have i wouldnt have, i wouldnt be able to watch the movies ive seen either lol he says i should pay for everything lol hes the one that wont even give me lunch money :( lol
In most cases, piracy won't hurt what wouldn't be purchased to begin with. For those without money, it doesn't hurt what they wouldn't have gotten anyways. For those with money, it's a legit test drive to see if it's worth your while. Piracy is a self deterrant if the product is good enough due to bugginess, poor quality, and constant patch-work for games and whatnot.
My parents were all against pirating, until when they started to want songs...
Now they just tell me not to get caught, which is fairly easy being everything I do get is from Korea or Japan.

I remember my parents were concerned with my downloading back when I was like 13-14, back when it was a big deal and people were supposedly getting arrested for downloading thousands of songs. But that only really applies to those without common sense to protect themselves or cover their tracks, and those that download mainstream popular stuff that the RIAA wants to feed off of.
I was only downloading game music from FF, so I doubt the RIAA even knows who Nobuo Uematsu even is.
