Random Thoughts.....What are you thinking?
Hello, spinning ***
Kaffy said: » got linux mint up and running ![]() Now that you have it up and running, download the Steam client for Linux and enable steam play for all titles. Steam -> Settings -> Compatibility -> enable steam play for all titles. Will need to restart. This will make it so Steam will play all games regardless if it's "Windows only" or not tested by Valve to work on Linux. Most games will work with a few exceptions. Switch to the "experimental" proton under compatibility if something does not work out of the box. Do not disable the steam overlay, it will tank performance (it's buggy and they won't fix it because they want everyone to use the overlay). ![]() page gif https://www.cnbc.com/2025/11/23/how-device-hoarding-by-americans-is-costing-economy.html
Now we know why the economy and innovation is going to ***: because people arent spending $1700 on a new iphone every 2 years ![]() Its not just your job, its your duty as Americans!!! Treat yourself.
Funny I tried to purchase this book directly from the publisher (Packt). Because of some system error (telling me some field was incomplete when there wasnt any field oncomplete there) i couldnt buy the book.
Then I went to Amazon to buy the very same book. Again, payment error. So I ended up finding the book for free on internet. SobI Downloaded it and done. This episode comes in line with a video I watched yesterday, talking about piracy. Sure, piracy is wrong and bad. But the thing isnt about money and more about service. The youtuber was saying he owns an Apple TV subscription. Still, he watched an Apple TV only series in streams. Because Apple TV shows sucks if not using an Apple TV. He summed up with kinda a wrong argument but I get the idea: it is not that I dont want to pay. It is the company fault for not delivering a service with higher quality than piracy. This book episode is basically this: I kept trying for 1h to pay for a product, but it just didnt work. Ok, gonna grab it for free. Less headache, for god sake Steam is the poster child for that model. Make everything easy to get in the same place and nobody will consider piracy for convenience (some will still do it for savings). Early Netflix also did a good job, before streaming split into 8 different apps with their own exclusives.
Careful.
Talking of companies "competing" or having to "offer a better product" will have their defenders showing up to claim how immoral it is to turn to piracy because it is a better service. ![]() The paid product should be better than the free product if you want people to pay for it. Just as long as 7 other Steams don't spawn and expect subscriptions all of a sudden...
I dunno what a couchfucker has to do with piracy
You wouldn’t download a sofa, would you? Lol
Steam doesnt have a monopoly though
Epic exists, EA made Origin, Ubisoft made UConnect or whatever, Blizzard made their own, theyre just all absolute *** and those that wound up shutting down was due to their incompetence / greed. GoG also exists, but thats a different market. I think the nintendo e-shop caught heat about their digital licenses as well too. I didnt look in depth, but someone switched to the new switch and their old library got cooked? Well Epic still exists, their cut is only 12% from what I was able to find, why dont the devs and publishers sell through Epic?
I did something awkward.
I decided to play while playing on Youtube an ASMR video... What ASMR video? Well... Obviously the only good ASMR that exists Carbuncle.Nynja said: » Well Epic still exists, their cut is only 12% from what I was able to find, why dont the devs and publishers sell through Epic? Offer the best service, get lots of users, suck the oxygen out of the segment. You don't need to cheat to get a monopoly, if you are good enough you can grow your own. Whos ready for half of stranger things final season.
Im not

TV companies - If only there was some kind of International Network that spanned the globe and could be used to carry video over it without us having to own infrastructure to do it. Oh wait.. I just recorded the 28th day of my gameplay, what is about 14h of videos.
It is a new record in my long journey. Never I got that far without going back and retcom stuffs. A lot of heavy lifting already done, now all that is left is to prep for the last challenges. I think that should be another 20 days or so, but as mostly routine and boring stuffs, maybe I can get done without too much wasted time Garuda.Chanti said: » ![]() Its not just your job, its your duty as Americans!!! I'm lying in a hospital bed waiting for a hernia operation. I haven't eaten for 17 hours because you're not supposed to after 11pm the night before the operation. I'm starving and wondering if it would really be so bad if I ate a few crisps, and looking at takeaways I can order when I wake up after the operation but looking at food is making it worse ??
