Afania said: » They have no tails.....FAIL. #NotRealMithra FFXIV female Miqo are just tinier humans with cat ears and tails. Was thinking of ordering food today, the prices talked me out of it. Can't believe how high just basic meals have become. $25 for a burger before tax and a million fees. Talking about $35 to $40 for one person. Feels like the only places that haven't jacked up prices are the pizza chains.
Pizza places had their own delivery starting 30 years ago, they're ahead of the curve. They don't have to pay dashers, they just make the cooks go.
dude this company won't pay their damn bills its so crazy
Asura.Bertana said: » dude this company won't pay their damn bills its so crazy They want to do this to allow them to have more money in the bank making interest, so our suppliers pay 120 (our PCA vendor lets us take them over a barrel and gives us 180 terms) but our customers are 30 or less. it is so hypocritical really feels dumb. We have lost multiple suppliers because we can seem to pay them in a timely manner, then we have to scramble to find another solution for what is a single source. 100% company has it's money so far up it's *** it can seem to reach it anymore. It's utterly insane - NYC just continues to pile on fees on these apps
Worse - Stores are just increasing their prices monthly - I'm praying it gets better, but honestly, it's getting worse - delivery people begging me for 5-star reviews, constantly forgetting things... Other day I got Mcdonalds before they had a bogo and a free fries if your orders over 15 dollars. forgot the fries... when I complained they said no problem - we will refund you for the fries... got a message saying zero dollars was trasfers to my uber credit.. i got jipped and an uber 1 member.. crazy Viciouss said: » Was thinking of ordering food today, the prices talked me out of it. Getting paid is one of the hardest things to deal with as a small business. We've been straight up told by some people they pay late to allow interest to accrue as long as possible. Others have payment folks that just don't care or are lazy. It's extremely frustrating. Asura.Bertana said: » i know! i've never in my 5ish years as an accounting professional seen a company so hell-bent on not paying its suppliers and ruining decades long relationships. it's so bizarre to me why we can't pay like idk 100 bucks for an ariba license. Sadly it's really common. We've only once in 12 years had an issue of flat out not being paid and it was largely because we gave up, we were spending more trying to be paid than it was worth. The rest is usually delay after delay. "Please fax the invoice" (it's 2025 we shouldn't need to do this) "Oh it got stuck together with another one (see above) "We hold payments to accrue interest" "Our payment terms are Net X (our MSA documents say Net Y)" "The invoice didn't have x on it" (it did) "Our person that handles payments is out of the office for a month" "We need x to sign the proposal (for work we already did) before we can pay it out" Usually the people we actually report to and work with end up spending a lot more time than they should have to tracking down payment on our behalf. This becomes a delicate balance because we don't want to be too annoying about it but we literally can't pay our bills if people don't pay theirs and we'll have 5 outstanding invoices that are 30-90 days late. It's worse when you have salespeople try to override things like "Oh, normally you pay by credit card before your order is released? This time we'll give you 60~90 day terms." Which a) That's not up to some dipshit salesman to make that call. AR exists for a reason. b) Customers that normally pay up front get reallllllly forgetful 2 months down the line when said order becomes due.
Fenrir.Niflheim said: » it is so hypocritical really feels dumb. Huh? It's a really common finance management strategy that I've been seeing other people and myself using for years. I always try to delay every payment as late as possible because 1) money devalue over time 2) interest and such. There are debt that I had from like 3 years ago, that I put it in investment and have no intention to pay them back until rate cut. Since both sides agreed in this case. This kind of small increase here and there eventually add up as significant revenue in the long run. Of course, if you ended up ruining important client relationship by breaking your promise that's another story. If both sides agree with delayed payment I don't see the problem personally. Most of the time, I do try to negotiate a deal that they accept to accomplish delays. I honestly don't know any business person that don't try their hardest to negotiate a beneficial deal. It's just normal business stuff. the big problem, at least at my company and probably others, is that the AR team is incentivized to drop the ball. Their major KPI is available cash on hand, so forgetting to pay someone is a win.
Or setting up a system where PO, invoices and proof of work done are constantly falling through the cracks. They will let the whole company die if it means more cash on hand, at least that is what it feels like. They dont get any dings in their metrics for delivering payment 7 MOENTHS LATE! to a small business who repaired our critical cryo pump, who we (the support engineering staff) have a good working relationship. When we realize the problem and got them to go and pay the guy it was still as "well we normally do the payments at the end of month so we will send it out then" tacking on another 27 day delay in payment. So ridiculous, and again embarrassing. Afania said: » If both sides agree with delayed payment I don't see the problem personally. That's the problem. There is no agreement. They agree to Net 30 payment terms to start with then just decide whenever they want to pay it. Mistakes happen, but in a lot of cases this is a planned effort to avoid payment and violate the agreement they agreed to. We have happily extended our payment terms upon request in the past, but usually they don't request, they just hold the funds. My experience primarily lies in AP but I recently got moved to corporate billing and a common pain point across the plants i support all complain that we either havent paid our shippers to ship product or havent paid our suppliers to make product or havent paid insurance or other related fleet fees etc etc etc and im just like damn is this company even solvent, will i have a job next month
Just ended up scheduling a carryout from Dominos for $8.65 out the door. Large one topping, pretty unbeatable in this economy.

That is pretty good, I still find it funny when i do carryout and the thing wants me to do a tip. The pizza place doesn't even have a dine in option, who am i tipping @.@ I also find it funny how the default tip values have changed like used to see 15%, 10%, 5% but now i see 25%, 20%, 15%. would be nice if that just had a round up and add dollars button so i can stop doing the math to figure out my tip. I greatly prefer a charge having 0 cents. |
