Random Thoughts.....What are you thinking?
I didn't really care for RE8, I felt like it was heavily frontloaded. Once the vampires all die, the story just peters out. That being said, no real reason not to look forward to RE9 if you are a fan of the series.

Youre just wasting your youth in this decaying game with a bunch of old geezer weirdos. Nothing to be proud here, kiddo. Go back to your studies. All work and no play makes me a dull lad No xi and no tea make me something something Also. It's better than what alot of my generation does. (Which is Scroll mindlessly on stupid videos) long rant about how I feel about current state of ff11
please don't take personal or get too offended just a write up for my website I decided to share here Odin.Upbeat said: » mostly it's all because I can't smoke and play operator error - the current endgame is getting ripped before Sortie runs and finding some *** to force your group into. making them kill the ixion cos it makes funny horsey noises is the current go-to, or wearing the wrong gear for my "spectral jig set" and "accidentally" aggroing everything I possibly can on the top floor. Odin.Upbeat said: » the race change was very cool I read your other post, and I very much came to the opinion that you blamed the race you picked on many of the problems you had with how people treated you. When you could change that, your excuses fell apart and now you're sperging out and blaming the game. I knew that when you got the option to change, you would do it and quit. The problem really is how you think about the game, XI hasn't changed much at all (to a fault you could say, in that they try super hard to keep it as close to the original design as they can). Most of the stuff you talk positively about are crap, PVP sucks and nobody does it (mainly cause FF players don't like PVP but also cause of how hard they make signing up and waiting for it etc) and HNM is stupid content that is just botted. There are many things that they could do in order to make the game better, but ultimately it is what it is and XI is a game made for a specific kind of player and it caters to them. It's in effect a somewhat underfunded and better looking version of OSRS, it's just made to grind stuff out in a living world. I think a major problem is you're just not able to clear the harder content, and it's upsetting to you. Well you don't have to do the harder content. You can do lower tier content and just have the game as a relaxing thing you do in your free time, or play to the level you're comfortable. Over half the people playing XI are solo, they aren't doing all the hardest content solo (btw many people who multibox don't do the hardest content either, this is a illusion created by watching too much Eijin or Velner). This is a mindset like thinking you have to play a single player game on the hardest difficulty, or it's not worth playing. Most people dont have this minset and pick normal or whatever. Honestly, I'm not defending FFXI, but that post really sounds like you're suffering from depression (and probably addiction).
I think a blood wedding FFXI tier story regarding the settlement of Jeuno should exist,
quitting can be hard, especially something you've done for 20 years, addiction or not. I think making a list like that is a good step to realizing why you are unhappy with something you used to enjoy. I'm coming to terms with being done with FFXI myself, I come here still but don't really play at all. got rid of all the accounts that had any progress done, so even if I get the urge I can login, but quickly realize I can't be assed to do everything over again.
I said id quit when I beat v25 bumba and now im logging in everyday...
Please SE just kill this game already Mistressfifi said: » Also. It's better than what alot of my generation does. (Which is Scroll mindlessly on stupid videos) This is merely generational clash.
Its pointless talking about other generations. Because mine is the best of all time and your just sucks, zoomers and boomers.

I quit for 3 years after being addicted for more than a decade. I don't miss FFXI 95% of time now. Last free log in campaign I logged in for free stuffs, and that's the only time that I slightly want to play more. SE almost succeed at taking my money away last free login. Almost! Then I move on to other games and quickly forgot about FFXI. Life without FFXI(or really just any time consuming activity) is too good with wide variety of other things that I can do. I can read more books everyday, participate in trpg or board game groups irl, join painting and crafting workshops, go to dojo, occasionally travel, and visit friends and family. I can also play wider variety of video games than just a few per year. Which is a nice way to experience different game genres. Recently I subscribed to kindle unlimited, can't wait to read even more books. Personally, I think having different hobby makes quitting way easier. They will take your attention away from FFXI. I wish audiobooks weren't so expensive. My eyesight has deteriorated quite a bit over the years and reading books in print has become a lot harder. I understand why they are pricey, just have to be picky I guess.
I will never understand this doomer mindset that can be seen on here (specifically here), WoW is the same age as XI and you don't get that there. Same for almost every other mmorpg. You don't see it on places like the XI reddit sub either, they are just happy to be playing the game.
It's a hobby, it's a game you play as a hobby. Some of you take this way too seriously. I never read people talking like this anywhere else, not on WoW, OSRS, Everquest or anywhere else. I think it's just a bunch of depressed people honestly. Go take a pill. Pantafernando said: » This is merely generational clash. There's this gap between the greatest generation and the baby boomers. I fall in it. RadialArcana said: » I think it's just a bunch of depressed people honestly. Go take a pill. For me depression has been a life long thing and FFXi both helped and hurt at various times. Funny enough though, I got off psych meds and made some lifestyle changes. Feel much better. I think its because FFXI is a harder game then wow considering the fall of players and it being *** all hard to get into anything from scratch - My friends who play wow still have a crap ton of peeps to hang and chill with. FFXI is a solo game that people flex paying for 6 characters to do content efficiently. It's *** sad and hilarious at the same time. I feel bad for those ffxi players who do that do. They actually need help Kaffy said: » I wish audiobooks weren't so expensive. My eyesight has deteriorated quite a bit over the years and reading books in print has become a lot harder. Still trying to get into it myself but I still like physical books more. If I want to hear the book, I want to see it too. Go take a pill. Spare us the hypocrisy. Coming from the guy that constantly doom and glooms SE, Sony, every video game company out there, and always ends up being wrong. Go take your own pill and get back to Reddit. Seriously, a complete joke post. Garuda.Chanti said: » RadialArcana said: » WoW is the same age as XI and you don't get that there. WOW released 2004 Blizzard started development for WoW in 1999, the same year SE started development for FFXI Kaffy said: » I wish audiobooks weren't so expensive. Yeah, I like hearing books while walking. What I usually do is to copy and paste the book text to Text to Speech app. It is an overhead, but it is more effective than reading page by page for someone like me, that potentually have problems with focusing. I also tried browser native reader. Its performance was quote underwhelming, stopping the speech, taking long to start etc. The browser reading per se was quote good, but I suppose they cant just give a good product for free, so it is a buggy app FFXI has evolved a lot in the last 23 years, the FFXI on release is nowhere near the same as the FFXI during SoA. But to suggest that FFXI and WoW are complete era shifts is outlandish.

While logically understandable locking behind a pay product the production ready stack, it is morally questionable releasing a product that will expose data to unintended public. And I feel the same about audiobooks. Reading my UX course, a lot about accessibility is discussed. While sometimes I feel they exhagerated, I fully agree with the relevance of having it available is a human empathy trait. And seeing they locking audiobooks behind a price wall, kinda defeats this. That is, for a product to be more accessible, you need to pay more, and this makes is less accessible. Again, logically understandable, just ethically questionable. That's weird, I don't play WoW but even then I've heard many people saying "Wow was better BACK IN THE DAY!!!" rant all the time. I think it's just human nature to lean towards nostalgia at this point. |
