I tried to fit the first 150 but it didn't work lol, they repeated so many of the same pokemon for teams in gen1/2.
Decided to just keep forging ahead with self publishing my fourth novel. Getting picked up by a publisher is impossible in this economy. So be on the lookout for book 4, The Terror, in the next week. More details soon.
My Microsoft sub will increase 33%.

:/ the guy flooding the screenshots with AI art is annoying, maybe i am just a *** but I dont see the point in sharing ***anyone can generate.
Struggling to get thru last of us show, just swapped to you. I think that actress is just horrible, she has to be the worst miscast ever done. Altho the memes/comments are quite funny on Instagram
I have poor experience with non-AI pictures in FFXIAH, so I would prefer AI art over something like Questaru selphies. Or the Drake Earring joke. Or the Michael Jeckson figurine

I like consistency in avatars so I never change mine also the image you had finally loaded while i was typing this, that is awful, I am not even sure that is a girl and the sch gear is all sorts of wrong. Have your avatar Ghibli style to change your mind ![]() Ghibli style? But that's not how Ghibli draw their eyes! ![]() You see, they always draw eyes with 1 white dot or 2 white dots(one big one small) on the same side. This AI image has 1 white dot and 1 white triangle on the opposite aide, doesn't look Ghibli. (There are many other face proportion difference, as well as hair string number difference. but eyes difference is the most obvious one.) Edit: Also noticed AI image has multiple shadow layers but Ghibli doesn't. I think this AI has bad data in the training pool from different styles ;< Dont be salty

I don't mind it, as long as it's stated as being AI. Nice to see new stuff, anyone can do it but almost nobody does. Though I feel like the facial expression is pretty much on point. Generally animes tend to emphatize emotions and facial expressions, while Ghibli tends to approach this more subly, focusing more on trasitions than the final state, thus this face barely expressing an emotion does feel like Ghibli Shiva.Thorny said: » Fenrir.Niflheim said: » the sch gear is all sorts of wrong I could see how you could see that. I picked this avatar while I was leading an ADL linkshell where I was the sch for the strat, but my first endgame weapon was aegis. Stages of recognizing Niflheim's PFP:
1) Oh she a PLD Mithra. Classic. 2) No wait, that's a robe. Oh it's SCH! 3) *forgets that they are robes while scrolling/seeing with peripheral vision 4) A week or so goes by 5) Niflheim sure is a great Mithra PLD whys that trash sch not wearing a regis smh
This guy just trash talked all the AI art being uploaded in FFXIAH.
Visually I think they are ok. It is not more flawed than an actual person drawing it. Nor is less appealing than like 95% of pictures normally being uploaded. My biggest criticism isnt about the art per se but about the context (or lack of it). Posting a random Prishe angry is unfulfilling. Why is she angry? Who is she talking to? When did this happen? It feels like just random meaningless selfie many take and post everywhere, that none cares, probably not even the person being portraited. Maybe this selfie worth is only the feeling of being recorded? That is something for the psychologist to decide. I do like the idea of AI art lowering the bar for creative work. Maybe it is something like the time when photos were created: painters used to make money painting peoples face. But now a box can immediately capture the image with a realism no painter could input. Probably those painter were posting in the FFXIAH from that time when he saw a photo being updated: “This is photo Garbage. Be aware.”. The result is history: no junk food art survived: i dont remember seeing people selling handmade portraits with only goal of being realistic. Either the dude add some unique trace or some unique insight, or really none will bother. I personally am interested in effectively using AI art to save time at some point ahead. Content over form. If your message is good, I should have no complain if it is handmade or AI-made. All this hate is just human natural reaction to changes. Give time. Time will fix it It feels like Cloud's *** is in danger

Either the dude add some unique trace or some unique insight, or really none will bother. The real question here is, do they have value in the market? I checked the AH scores of a couple of those AI art, they generally float between 2-5 ish. But many human painted art uploaded years ago scored 7-8, even though they are imperfect. The highest scored hand painted art of all time scored 9+. If those scores represents market value of those art on this site, then AI art currently isn't scoring higher than human. I have a friend irl who is a professional painter using traditional medium, he can finish 1 water color painting in 2-3 hr and sell it for $800-$900 each piece. Which is pretty good hourly rate imo. AI doesn't change any of these. You can generate 500 perfect AI images in 2 hr, how many pieces can sell $800-$900 in the market? It's fun to play with AI image and post them on the internet. But the question is, does it generate values in the market? If not, then it's a "fun tool" at best. Afania said: » does it generate values in the market? When you're talking about art, presumably the artist's reputation plays into it. But, if someone had sufficient reputation already and used AI to generate art of their own style, would it be inherently less valuable? Is it the quality of AI art that makes it worthless, or the perception that it's AI art? Edit: Maybe some parallels to be drawn to handmade goods vs factory goods. Seems pretty typical for handmade goods to be accepted as better and come at a price premium, though they often have more variance and flaws. However, the vast majority of people are still purchasing factory-produced things because they are so much cheaper. I wouldn't be surprised to see serious erosion of commissioned artwork, because AI can do just as well for free. My biggest gripe with ai art is I do not get rewarded by actually looking at the piece closely.
In human art there are little details that are really rewarding to the viewer when you look closely at a piece, when you do this with ai art you just get disappointment, you find dumb errors, for example on the prishe art her head gear has a bunch of asymmetries and one sleeve has a gold detail that the other doesn't, similarly on the arciela image she has a sleeve on one side but not the other, the bracers are different colors, her skirt has details on one side but not the other. And all that doesn't even get into the actual deviation from the source like the skirt design or how her gear is actually designed I find all of these "errors" ridiculous but I also know most people only look at an image for a few seconds at most and don't even care about the little details I love to look for in art. |
